I will embrace one of the major religions if this is true.
BTW, this week's impulse purchases in Forbidden Planet were the diecast Serenity figures (Jayne, River and Mal) and a set of Serenity postcards.

As for Tudyk "announcing it": just because he died doesn't mean he won't be in it. Could have flashbacks or something, or indeed set more stuff between Firefly and Serenity

The only way I can see this happening is if Universal were extremely satisfied with the ancillary DVD sales. Which may very well be the case, who knows...

It has done exceptionally well considering the performance of the film at the box office. And a good percentage of those people who bought the film on DVD are going to plump for the Special Edition so there's still some profit to be had from it.

So, potential plots? I'm hoping for Serenity II: The Legend of Wash's Gold, in which the crew band together to find the treasure hidden somewhere by their deceased crewmate. However, in order to do so, they have to get the help of Wash's twin brother Scoburn Wash, allowing for Tydyk to return to the role but this time be a curmudgeonly character. It could also allow for the return of the moustache. Throw in a sequence in which Simon disgusts River by talking about seeing their parents have sex the previous week, despite the fact that the logistics of that would have required him to travel billions of miles and risk his life in Alliance territory, and you've got a bonified hit.

Oh yeah, and I noticed in Halo 3, that at one point on eof the marines in their context sensitive but otherwise random comments, mentioned Shiny in the Firefly context of the word. Shiny!

But that comic series was written before Serenity came out, to act as a bridge between the TV series and the film, that's not an indication of what Joss wants to do next (or is there a second comic series I don't know about?!

There's a second one on the way which is set before Serenity and Serenity: Those Left Behind, suggesting that Joss is interested in exploring the time before the film that isn't covered in the series.

A couple of us were discussing what Firefly would be like should Sci Fi ever give it the green light again (highly doubtful but there you go) and I said I dont think Id like to see it without wash back in it which would be difficult seeing as he kicked the bucket in the film whilst the majority seemed to think it would work out fine. For me it would be like reanimating farscape without D'Argo, it wouldnt be right as he was a principal character then theres the whole matter of Book also being killed off so I said it would only work if they set the series before the film. I was just wondering what others thought about it, am I right thinking it wouldnt be right to have a new series without Wash and Book? Or could you see it working out just fine?
Maybe Josh will take the story on an entirely different trajectory with:

A second series could work fine. There is an infinite number of routes Josh could take, remember there are dozens of planets and hundreds of moons, so there is bound to be many other characters that would be worth seeing, perhaps more with Badger, bring him in to every episode, but his cockney manner could be annoying.
I vote for more Badger. Everyone likes a bit of Badger.

I like Badger cos he looks like my brother. But no more 'cockerney gawd love 'em me ol' china' dialogue please. Never written by Joss you notice. Character only became cockney cos of Sheppard and was supposed to be the Whedon himself.
I like Shindig the least of all episodes. 2 dimensional guest characters and dopey premise. And exceedingly dodgy dialogue in parts. You put the sheer cleverness of Objects in Space next to it, it looks kinda lame.

In comparision to the three O's (Objects In Space, Out of Gas and Our Mrs. Reynolds), most of 'em have their flaws IMO. Till overall brilliant TV.

I saw Serenity, and I loved it, but I didn't realize until recently that it was a TV show (and I work for an entertainment section ... how did that happen ... I'll just chalk it up to momentary brainfart). I just got the DVDs and I am just loving it. I love Joss Whedon, so I expected nothing less, but I am really enjoying this.

So, I hear. I am *really* enjoying the show. There's great storytelling, chemistry, production. It's all there and it's a shame that it's gone. But that happens. Remember The Ben Still Show? Thirteen episodes, then, the end. Critics LOVED it. Fox killed it.

I hear Alan Tudyk is in a film with Daisy Donovan about funerals? Donovan is that crazy woman who presented Daisy Does America (no, not a porn film) and rather crap it was too.
I think the world is ready for another solid Sci Fi programme to rival Heroes seeing as we are losing BSG after next season. We have Heroes, Stargate Atlantis, Doctor Who to keep us going but there really isnt much going on TV wise, when before we were spoilt for choice where science fiction was concerned.
