A friend of ours has recently gotten back from the Canadian set of Land of the Dead. My brother got to see photographs of the filming & stuff.
I asked him how the zombies look and he said not bad. He said that there are a lot more terribly decaded living dead that are controlled as puppets. Suppossedly the zombies get more intellegent or some such as they get more decayed. Also Savini is in it as his character Blades from Dawn of the Dead.
And on a slightly related note Bub from "Day of the Dead" is going to be at the Chiller Theatre Convention in NJ in January. Someone should tell Simon, I know he's a big fan.
I'm sure simon knows. After all he does have a Bub alike Cameo in the film. With the original Bub makeup.
You can read about his cameo here
Cameo NewsThere are spoilers about the film there as well, so carefull reading. ( tho I have already read the script).
From the script it ceratinly sounds like an ambitious film, but some of the "evolved" zombie's action are ..for lack of a better word Strange.
For some more pics of the set check out this
GalleryAnd from what I have heard Toe Tags is not all that great. Stick with Walking Dead.
For once, I don't want to see any pictures, trailers or read any spoilers for a film.
I just want to see this film, in the cinema, not knowing what's going to happen, so the enjoyment and excitement is all there as I love the original 3 Romero films.

That's exactly how i feel.
Though that's gonna be difficult.
Once the thing's finished being filmed, the promotional campaign will start, & it'll be trailers, tv spots, billboards, people telling you, magazines, internet, the living dead, left, right & centre.
+ curiosity'll probably get the better of me.
....(yeah, I know)

Cameo NewsThat link didn't work.
Thanks for the other link though. I haven't really kept up much on the news. Like Baz, I don't really want to know anything.
I haven't read Toe Tags at all. I do have a couple of the Walking Dead, but it's like numbers 7 & 8. My boyfriend has the beginning of the story, but for some reason won't let me read it. Bastard!
The link seems fine for me, might the fact the site be called Bloody Disgusting have something to do with it being blocked maybe?
As for spoilers. hell I felt as long as I can read the script I might as well. No point denying the inevitable

I have a very bad habbit of doing that when It comes to the Harry Potter films. But my friends always expect me to tell them what's going to happen anyway cause they haven't read the books and would like some back ground info on the story before they watch it.

Just got back from Chiller Theatre Convention. I got to meet Gaylen Ross, Fran from "Dawn of the Dead" & Bub from "Day".
Bub seemed a bit distant, friendly & all that, but a bit stand-offish. Gaylen, however, was so nice. She ended up talking to us for like 15 minutes about all sorts of stuff. I was very very happy to meet her. Now all I have to do is meet Stephen from "Dawn" & I can die very happy.

I don't know if you've ever been to Chiller Convention. It's loads of fun with a great costume party on Saturday night. Bands play...they're not that good, but some of the more musical guests tend to take to the stage. And if you stay in the hotel, lots of parties in the rooms.

Well, see, here's the thing... I'm
not from Canada. I was born in Washington, DC, and raised in Vermont. I merely attend university in the Great White North.
Of course, due to my talent for blending in, and my strange knack at unintentionally picking up accents, the Canadians all think I'm one of them... I walk among them, I guess you could say.
Of course, the folks back home in Vermont all think I'm British, for some reason. Even my sister's high school friends, after speaking with me on the phone, would ask her if I hailed from the Isles. I don't know what that's about.
In any case (I say that way too often), I don't have any particular stereotypical view of your police, since I've never had to deal with them before. I'm sure they're nothing like they're portrayed on television, just like Dirty Harry is nothing like your average American police officer.

Frick, I almost had the opportunity to meet Romero, a year or two ago. He was a panelist at a film forum held annually in Lake Placid, New York, about two hours' drive for me. Unfortunately, my transport didn't come through... Oh well.
I'm sure he didn't need any fanboys distracting him, anyway.

Good day all, this is my first post and glad to say I am a member now. I watched Shaun of the Dead this past summer and was in love with it within the first 10 mins. Then I ordered the Spaced series DVD's from UK Amazon and again just blown away with Simon's, Jessica's , and Edgar's work. On that note I'll get to my point.
I'm from the states and am curious as to what other shows over in the UK star the cast of Spaced and from Shaun? Also what does "How's that for slice of fried gold" mean? I know Im a bloody yankee, but please help with that one. Hope to post more and meet some great fans like myself. Also I'm hoping that Simon's dairy on the set of Land of the Dead makes it as an extra on the DVD. Who else agrees?

fried gold - something near perfection, very good
"So hot it could fry gold."
Nick invented it while on the set of SPACED, I believe.

The cast have been in so much, and my hands are playing up today but Im sure someone will answer that question for you.
Fried Gold is a phrase Nick Frost came up with according to the facts on the film, and it means something is so good, or 'hot' it would fry gold, hope that makes sense. Oh and welcome to the board matey Bxxx

For the US guy. latest i saw was simon and jess on the 'comic aid' comedy show which was cool. they proceeded to have a slagging match about each others carrers since spaced.
jess recently did the worlds shittest show called 'according to bex'. ( which simon publicly took the piss out of her for)

Try also Black Books which stars Dylan Moran (from Shaun) and Bill Bailey(from Spaced). They both also have excellent stand-up DVDs out: Moran's 'Monster' and Bailey's 'Bewilderness' and 'Part Troll'.
