Hi Aussies!

Just wanted to let you know that Shaun of the Dead is screening as a part of the "Moonlight Cinema" in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth!

Check out:

http://www.moonlight.com.au/

What a fantastic way to see the film - under the stars! Take your picnic rug and some champers. Sweet!

Also Melbournites don't forget Shaun is screening on Jan 13th at The Astor theatre on Chapel Street as a double feature with the remake of Dawn of the Dead.

We're all busy lurking.. or watching imported DVD's of spaced or Shaun... biggrin.gif
Thanx for the tip on the Moonlight Cinemas, hope they show it here in backwards Adelaide as well.
AusChick
hehehehe

Cool name Toneloc!

Yeah I hope they will screen it in Adelaide too.

It's not on til late March here in Melbourne. Of course by then it will probably be bloody freezing and raining! Gotta love Melbourne weather!
I'll still rug-up and go along though. It'll be fun.

Glad to know I'm not the only Aussie round here.
I'm sure there are some others but they must be lurking and watching their DVD imports as you said tongue.gif

Now that I've noticed a few more Aussies around here I thought I'd resurect this thread.

Mostly seems to be Sydneysiders round here lately so I will direct you all to rush straight to Moonlight Cinemas and check out the screening times for Shaun of the Dead.

I think it's on March 28th in Sydney.

Go along! You know you wanna!

Well, tonight is the night!
I'm off to see Shaun of the Dead under the stars at the Moonlight Cinema in the Melbourne Botanic Gardens.

Had a cool night!

Very interesting atmosphere with bats flying overhead and all.
Somehow appropriate I thought.

Always fun to see Shaun with an audience too.

It was lots of fun.

why does nothing like that happen over here in boring "olde" england?
sounds like a fun night out, instead of having nothing to do all the time...
please, someone tell me if there is any cinemas like this around, p-l-e-a-s-e...!

this summer just gone there were some open air screeings in parks in london sponsored by stella artois. i watched 'back to the future' (one of my all-time favourite films) in greenwich park with beer and nibbles and my bezzy mate. it was fantastic! everyone was joining in on the best lines like 'damn...i'm late for school!' and 'one point twenty-one gigawatts!'. cracking fun! biggrin.gif
ally
oh yeah i remember hearing abt them. there was romeo n juliet as well wasn't there?
AusChick
In Australia we have the "Moonlight Cinemas" every summer.
They usually play a lot of classic films (saw Ferris Bueller there once) but also some of the bigger films from the preceding year.

It's good fun. Kind of like a picnic and a movie together

Just thought I'd mention that Shaun has now been released on DVD in Australia.

I saw it at JB Hi-Fi today for about $30.

Yea I hired it out last night, even tho I own the UK version...and was pissed off and also secretly happy that they only have half the extras...not even that!!!!
I basically wanted to see the one featurette that wasn't on my copy.

Get a UK copy AC from ebay ...you can get them for that price hey!!!!
Honestly, the extras totally shit on the ozzie ones!
luvs nix

p.s this is my 150th post...yay! biggrin.gif
AusChick
hehe
We already got the UK version from Amazon and had it shipped out here before it even hit the Cinemas out here!
What can I say? We are impatient. tongue.gif

So what was the extra featurette on the Aussie one?

I find most of the time English versions of stuff are often better. Plus it's usually cheaper to buy it and have it shipped to Australia than it is to just buy a copy in the local shop!

One of the old episodes of the Goodies on the second DVD is still in black and white on the Australian DVD but they found a colour version for the UK dvd!!!
Plus the UK one has a bunch of extra stuff.
Glad I bought that one from Amazon too!

Same with heaps of other stuff.
Plus because we don't live in the UK we don't have to pay VAT so the prices end up being even cheaper than quoted!

Bless multi-region DVD players!!

The extra feature is a small kind of americanised, The Making of...kind of thing.
Some nice interviews and it lasts for about 20 mins...
but sooooooooooo shit compared to the UK one.
Man I think I'll be def gettign my Goodies DVD's from England!
They sound a heap better!
luvs nix
AusChick
yeah we swear by Amazon.co.uk
Why should the Brits get all the good stuff?
hehehehe

my bf has been (naughtily) downloading the new Dr.Who episodes too because he's too impatient to wait for it to screen out here.
He'll probably be good and buy the DVDs once they are released though.
He's quite moral like that.

heheheh
I kind of have my morality moments.
but not when it comes to music...
I'm the downloading queen man!
If I like the band I go buy the album
Like Evermore's debut album....man I love that CD..
had the whole thing on MP3 but had to just own the actual CD!
Plus I just had to support such a great Oz/NZ young band!

but man hard to get movies...or tv...yea I hear ya!
