Ooh, just over 5 days to go! I can't wait, though I'm going to miss Sirius (he was - is - my favourite character) ... I hope there's more about Sirius' childhood and stuff because I'd love to know about that ...
I wish it was Saturday so much!!! *sighs*

I'm tempted to pop down the shops at midnight on Friday if for no other reason than I'll probably be beered up and it could be amusing to point and laugh at the outfits some of the people will be wearing!

Wish I could go to WHSmith on Friday night for it ... But no-one will go with me and I would never be allowed to go on my own. But I think I can wait until about 9.30 on Saturday morning, because I had to wait until 7pm on Saturday for the last one! Torture that was ... Still managed to finish it by Monday. I'm just gonna peg it over to WHSmith, buy it, nick the car keys and peg it back to the car to read it.
Just over 4 days to go! And just over 200 pages left of Order of the Phoenix to read (216 to be exact).

I ordered it months ago off Amazon and got quite pissed off when I heard that they'd lowered the price, then they e-mailed me and said that I get the discount as well! Should bloody well think so.

I pre-order a 1st edition through the publisher when they first became avaliable last year. Cost me 20 odd quid though.

Aww thanks for the offer.
I think I
might be able to cope, I did wait much longer (about 9 and a half hours longer!) for the last one.
They've posted images of the back cover on

Ha-Ha!! I'm the first person to report back that I have a copy!! (and I'm not pissed at all!)
Proof, the opening line:
"It was nearing midnight and the Prime Minister was sitting alone in his office,"It's a long story that involves a Real Ale Festival, far too much beer and a botched interview with local radio! (more on that tomorrow . . .).
And now, to piss off Potter fans, I'm off to bed! (and without reading any of the book!)

Now that's controversial.(and I'd probably do the same

)
Well, it seems I going to get the book later today, but I'm not dressing up as a wizard for it, ever. I do get annoyed with this whole hype and I end up thinking "it's just a book." Sure, it's a good one, but is it really worth staying up all night in a pointy hat trying to complete it before the day is dawning?
Although I am being a bit of a hypocrite as I'll probably do exactly the same with The Legend Of Zelda: The Twilight Princess, point hat's an' all.

Harry Potter is a cren. I just got up at half six to work the 'potter shift' at Ottakar's, lots of small children screaming with excitement. I was put on 'gnome wanging' duty and i can tell you it was endless fun... honest to god.

As this is an on-going thread for all things Potter it would be good if those who don't have the new book already (ha ha ha! In yer face!), or are slow readers etc, can still read what is posted here without running into any spoilers.
With that in mind, and before anything is posted, can people either use spoiler tags (spoiler /spoiler in square brackets) when posting any content from the new book or post in the
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince thread where spoilers are allowed!
Cheers all!

I know! I suck! I've had the book in my hot hands for 41 hours now and all I've read is up to page 47.
I am fighting teenagers and hangovers mind you.
Going to a HP "do" at 6 am after only 2 hours of sleep and ten thousand squealing 8 year olds is NOT my cup of tea.
I was like....just damn well gimme the book already!
