Okay I already know I want to buy all of Spaced and already own Shaun of the Dead, but...

What about 'Nick Frost's Danger - 50000 Volts!' is it worth buying?

Oh and, 'Black Books' Haven't seen any of it but I am on a buying spree...is it any good/worth buying?
Baz
Shifting this into Media.

you might want to have a read through here. There might be some goodness in it.
BeyondSpectrality
Well I see you are going to becoma a vital asset to the lengthity of my stay here before they decide to ban me for stupididty -_-;

Thx again Baz ^^;
Raven
Black Books is good - Series one and three are very good, series two had its moments but wasn't as good overall.
BeyondSpectrality
hmmm so the comblete series 1-3 boxset is worth the £26.99 on amazon.co.uk?
frostitute
Do I even have to tell you about Danger? tongue.gif

Here, browse through my gallery that's full of images from it.

I'd get series 1 of Black Books definately. Wasn't as keen on Series 2 and didn't see all of series 3 (but what I saw was great). So perhaps start off with series 1 and see how you get on with it? it's worth it!

Series one is a must - if only for the wine drinking episode . . .

"Bernard . . . Bernard . . . Bernard . . . look Bernard! Bernard . . ."

Classic stuff!

Grapes of Wrath! It's my favourite. And the DVD has the 'Black Dolls' episode. 'Drugs! Grapes!'

Yes buy the whole box set. I'm mean what's the point in buying just the 1st and 3rd series. You might as well get them all.

Also you need to buy the "Big Train" dvd, all 5 series of "Red Dwarf", "Peep Show", all 3 series of "Teachers" all 3 series of "Father Ted".

That should tide you over for a bit, and make you proper skint. biggrin.gif
BeyondSpectrality
HAHAHAHA! *is starting to fall in love with Baz* I'll definately look into all of these, thx a lot and thanks to all others who have responded to this thread XD
Lazlo Woodbine
Why not get the Bill Bailey and Dylan Moran Live Dvds while you're at it? Ooh, and the Davd Gorman one. It's only £5 or £6 you know. smile.gif

He's right you know. You should get these too, as well as the "High Life" if you can find it, which WAS funny and very good.

Eh Sebastian!

And Family Guy while we're at it.

Also if you can find it, get yourself a copy of the first 2 series of Round The Twist. A great Australian kids programme.

Thank you. It's because of the site that Nick knows about the US fanbase alone!

I'm just fighting the good fight, rooting for the underdog.

I got it the day it came out, I was so excited. And yes, oh yes, it makes sense. Even though the menus don`t move around too much. tongue.gif
Lazlo Woodbine
The menus had me laughing more for a good 1/2 an hour before i even selected anything to play smile.gif That's surely a sign of a quality dvd.
BeyondSpectrality
Ugh, it's gonna cost about $72 for all of Spaced, Black Books, and Danger 50,000 Volts! ;/

Again sorry for the double post, but I couldn't edit the other one *cries*

I think I may hold off on Black books till I get meh next Paycheck...

It`s worth it the price for the Ken Korda commentary alone.

Class.

And then there's Father Ted . . . wink.gif

Have ended up buying 4 DVDs in the sales today:

High Fidelity
Fever Pitch (was having a bit of a Nick Hornby day . . . wink.gif )
Father Ted (Series 3) and
Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman (which I've heard is very good but have yet to see for myself smile.gif ).

Oh my god, I used to love that. I had a book and everything. Then the kids all changed and I kept seeing the same episode, 'Nails', about the mermaid boy. It was quite sad actually.

Must admit, that`s the only Hornby film I haven`t seen, and probably never will, because of the Grantness. Although having said that, I didn`t like Fever Pitch much either. I`m guessing High Fidelity scores high because of Cusack.

I know the Grant effect is off putting but it's still worth watching if you liked the book. There's a decent script and Grant isn't at his Grantish worst.
Raven
Haven't read the book either tongue.gif
BeyondSpectrality
*dies* I won't have any money for the next 2 yers +_+; I sure will be busy watching stuff though!

Thx to all those that have replied!

i absolutly loved danger! Incoming attack and Danger! 50,000 volts.
Nick frost becomes his usual cynical self in his effort to find the most stupidest danger situations and (even funnier) experts at getting out of it.
Its a shame that it was only able to get air time on channel 5... tongue.gif

oh god yes, get it now!

If you like American Drama, check out WH Smiths.

Series 1-4 of Babylon 5 at £24.99 each, thats just under half RRP.

Oh, try and get Ripping Yarns as well.

Seth Green was talking about a 4th series of Family Guy in this months issue of Empire. Maybe everyone else already knew about it but it came as excellent news to me. Just thought i'd mention it in case anyone else was as clueless as me.

I sort of dislike family guy because my friends over-quoted it before I'd seen it, so I wanted to hate it because I'd made such a fuss about how bored I was of it but there are some moments of pure genius. Stewie is so cool.

Has anyone seen Ichi the Killer? I wanna know if it's as good as it looks >_O;

And I dun much want to see Family Guy ;/

and Dabger! Incoming Attack anyone know the DVD release date for it?
Lazlo Woodbine
Ichi the Killer is slightly overrated but still worth watching nonetheless. It's not as gruesome as i thought it would be, except for the famous meathook scene.
I Don't think Danger Incoming Attack has a realease date does it? I might be wrong though because i haven't checked or anything.
