Reviving old games some more
frostitute
Yeah these have been out for a while now.

Those are the 2nd series of old games, while the first series were of the following:

Ice Climber
Pac-Man
Xevious
The Legend of Zelda (the first one)
Super Mario Bros.
Donkey Kong
Excitebike

I don't find them "easily worth the purchase", but having a portable Legend of Zelda is easily worth it though.

Unfortunately, some games were cut from the American release, such as Adventure Island and Kid Icarus, for which there is no reason why.

And look what I happen to have!

I have no idea what that white smudge on the right side of my face is...
The Phantom
I have recently got Ice Climber and Pac-Man and become hideously addicted to both.

I bought Zelda II to see if it really was deserving of the 'worst' Zelda game in the Nintendo series (those Phillips CD-I games and alike don't count)..........it's different, not in the same style as the other games in the series, but still kinda enjoyable.

Donkey Kong rules all. Gamestation are currently selling the first wave of these for a tenner each, much more palatable than the regular fifteen. Ice Climber, Donkey Kong, Excitebike and Castlevania all come highly recommended.

Super Mario was a bit of a disappointment for me. I know these are supposed to be identical to the original NES carts and everything but for a portable game of such size not to have any kind of save feature beyond recording your high score seems a bit stupid.

Also, that article neglected to mention that identical ports of Metroid are unlockable in both Metroid Prime and Metroid Zero Mission.
