We all know that the top 100/50 of things on any show are usually pap. Spaced isnt mentioned once, nither is Father Ted, in the 50 you can vote for. Brasseye and 3 big train sketches are in there but still I think some of spaced best bits should be there.
50 greatest comedy sketchesAfter voting there is a chance to put 5 suggestions for ones not included. Ive put...
Spaced - Colin Rescue
Spaced - Street gunfight
Spaced - Chaos Theory
Father Ted -meets victor meldrew
Spaced- Matrix

The clue's in the question... Spaced isn't a sketch show, it's a sit-com.

Yeah, it`s only Richard and Judy who think that.

But it is a sit-com, so Richard and Judy are right (for once).

Nah, vote Python. And make sure it`s for the Spanish Inquistion, and not the bloody Parrot sketch, I still don`t find that as funny as most of the other stuff.

Expect Little Britain to do well - it'll garner lots of votes from the section of the population who can only remember the last thing they watched.
There are some good sketches in there, but some of the inclusions (all of the Fast Show ones, for example) seem to be more about the characters involved than one particular sketch they're in. And what's number 76 about - 'Partridge At The Races' why not put it in with the other The Day Today ones? </pickypickypicky>
Nice to see Absolutely mentioned, though.
Edited : because I managed to misspell 'Fast'. Pah!

What a list....Pete & Dud, Big Train, Fry & Laurie, Absolutely,Morcombe & Wise..some brilliant stuff there.
Totally chuffed that the little seen Spike Milligan sketch "Daleks" in there...or to give it its full name "Pakistani Daleks". It has to be seen to be believed - may be considered a little un-PC, but its so fucked up on every level its genius.
Only real omisssion I can think of is Pete & Duds "Greta Garbo" sketch, and Harry Enfields sketch where the current Liverpool football team play one from the (I think) 40's

With Charles "Charley" Charles as the Arsenal captain, no less.

I think would come under the catch all of the 'Dagenham Dialogues', which I voted for as it would include the Art Gallery sketch as well.

I think you could probably fit half the list with Pete & Dud stuff. The best bits was the corpsing.
Can't wait for the full list to air on telly...has to be essential tape and keep material. Plus it saves me forking out £30+ for Milligans "Dalek" sketch on video...which I've been tempted to do so many times

Just had a browse and smiled at the ace memories some of the sketches brought back. The Day Today - The Pool is so so funny, "look if you want me to keep the pound then I'll keep the pound, but I cant let you in the pool".
When asked for a suggestion I had to put it about Monkey Dust's Mr. Hoppy.

Grrr... Another poll another excuse to get angry. One Milligan sketch?? My favourite of his was the brilliant 'paint by numbers' one. Superb.
Out of the Python one's I'm gonna go for 'Argument Clinic'. That and one where Idle plays a 'terrorist' on a plane are my favourite Python sketches. 'I'll tell ya where the bomb is for a pound.'
A Bit of Fry and Laurie was full of great stuff. Can't remember the names of most of them though.
Little Britain - rubbish.

The greatest Fry & Laurie sketch they missed was the Michael Jackson interview...Stephen Fry being interviewed as MJ without the make up, clothes, voice or any resemblence at all to MJ. I don't think I'd ever laughed so much than when it cut to Fry moon walking.....a big, gangling English toff walking jollily on a treadmill. Genius

hmm. nice idea but i can't help think that the majority of votes will come from the pop idol phone vote generation who will only have ever seen little britain...
yea but no but yea but SHUT UP! THEY'RE TAKING THE PISS OUT OF YOU!
for me, milligan, pete and dud, python's argument, big train 'jockeys' ( shamelessly ripped off by playstation ad recently ) and vic n bob's slade in residence.
also, when will they repeat fry and laurie? is it available on dvd?

Just personal faves...And yes, I know they're not all British, but let's open this up shall we?
Python: The entire Wimbledon/blancmange episode
Saturday Night Live: The Sinatra Group
Kids In the Hall: Bad Doctor
The Vacant Lot: Blinded By the Light
Fry & Laurie: Flushed Grollings
SCTV: Five Neat Guys

Big Train: Wanking Office
Little Britain: Only Gay in the Village
The Chris Rock Show: Halle Berry 911
Ooer, what else, what else....????...
ETA: Of course, when Andy Kaufman cause the fist fight on Fridays, but that probably doesn't count does it? Not exactly a testimonial to the writing...

Kids in the Hall -I don't wanna demon. Shame i can't vote for that.
To tell the truth the funniest sketch I ever saw was on the Little and Large show which sounds a little unbelievable.

I LOVED that show! By the time I finally got the smart idea to tape them, they only ran one or two. I know I got at least one episode....somewhere. I have never been able to find the tape.

Holy cow, I think you're my twin.

I did the EXACT same thing, they were on when I was still at college and I didn't have the foresight to record it. Damn, damn damn. (They only did one series of 6 episodes, too.)
Rob and Paul later turned up on
The Jenny McCarthy Show, which was a hideous waste of their talent. Meh.
ETA there's a little bit of info on the show here:
unORiGiNAL.com - although sadly, the external links to the MP3's are now gone!

"He Slept On His Arms" - still a classic...

I can't belevie they haven't got the first 'Legz Akimbo' sketch from League Of Gentlemen in there. It's pure gold.
'There's nothing wrong with being gay. Dykes, on the other hand, are evil'.

That is one of the best sketches ever, it is true! But the LoG ones they've picked are all fantastic - surprisingly well chosen, possibly even by someone who knows what they're talking about.
