So what do people think is this new channel 4 comedy jobby is going to be like? Good/bad?

I'm not a big fan of jimmy carr so i hope he's in it as little as possible biggrin.gif I think he might be the host so that could put a bit of a crapper on that but hey got
spacegurl
i quite like him. smile.gif

Lazlo Woodbine
It took me about 3 minutes before i changed the channel. Truely awful.

I was gonna watch it, then changed my mind, then put it on for a second and Vinnie Jones was there holding a copy of the Racing Post, so I switched it off and came on here instead biggrin.gif

TV started going downhill when BBC2 moved the "Comedy Zone" to a monday night.

Oh your are so right there. I was just commenting earlier that Blackadder should be repeated as I don't own series 1 and I wanna check it's still shite rolleyes.gif
Chapman Baxter
I watched it for a bit. It was bad. I do not plan to watch it again.

Blackadder I wasn't shite, really, except in comparison with later series. It had at least two really funny episodes.

Please remind me, it really has been a very long time since I watched it (either drunkenly or hungover).

There was the episode where Edmund was supposed to marry, first of all Miriam Margolies (sp?), then a very young girl. And then the episode with the Witchsmeller Pursuivant. I can't do justice to either of them by describing them, really. The comedy is in the dialogue rather than the plot.

I thought it was quite good to be honest, im not sure what i think of Jimmy Carr, sometimes i like him, other times i think he's a complete twat. He was pretty good tonight and so was Vinnie Jones and so was that other guy - Rob . . . whatever hes called

I remebered snippets last night, whilst desperatly trying to get to sleep. It was just the voice that really grated mad.gif

I may have to set up a repeat Blackadder you twats petition.

As Vic Reeves used to say on his Big Night Out - Very Poor. I thought it was supposed to be a return to Friday Night Live style programming.

Why isn't comedy on TV taking risks anymore - would TV companies even commission a show like The Young Ones or Big Night Out these days. Sometimes I realise how lucky we were to have a show like Spaced screened.
spacegurl
it was on in the backround while i was on here biggrin.gif

i must say, from what i did see, i wasnt feeling it really.
SpaceSickPip
J'think Im the only person in the whole country who liked it then? huh.gif

kateykinz
yah probably

gave up when they were at the dogs
jimmy carr is OK but Vinnie Jones made for a crap nervous host, I didn't know who the others were and the audience were annoying us by laughing too loudly at EVERYTHING - even the stuff that obviously was really poor material.

watched Keith Barrett instead which was only slightly better, then I fell asleep after a bad reaction to a hot chocolate.

I quite like Jimmy Carrs shtick but it didn't take a clairvoyant to predict this was going to be a shitshower of a programme. If they wanted some post pub titillation why didn't they just get a nude Abi Titmuss to bounce up and down on a Trampoline for an hour. It would have been just as entertaining and wierdly hypnotic too.
superfurryandy
Jimmy Carr is an unfunny boil on the arse of comedy.
The_Fuckest_Uppest
I watched half an hour and it truly was the worst half hour in recent weeks. The band was crap, the jokes were crap and the presenters were crap. That 'rob' guy was a complete retard. (Notice i didn't give him the dignity of a capital letter) With any luck it'll be canceled in a few weeks and they can show repeats of good shows
UNS
Didn't see it but its a shame of its shit, It has such potential a british version of the American saturday night live, with u.k comedy actors taking part in sketches and other things would be brilliant of they actually got the right people involved and good writers but it doesn't look like they have.
Baz
God this was total shite! Waste of time and money. Surely Channel 4 can do better than this?
