Yo! Sounds cool!
Being from Canada, I find that perhaps it would be interesting to explore the different perceptions of audiences from other countries. I am sure that British film-goers viewed the movie in a different way than Canadians. Perhaps jokes were easier to understand? Or even funnier to Canadians with the added fun of watching a film with a different accent. It may not be the deepest subject matter, but it could be made into an interesting one.

Holly was also writing an essay about Spaced. You might find some useful information here:
Spaced and Its Fans, although it's not exactly the same topic.

Sooo any americans out there who would like to give their opinion please let me know.

Can anyone explain why is "Cornetto" so funny?
i have no idea what a Cornetto is

Its a upmarket ice cream you tend to get at cinemas. I guess its funny just because of its juxtaposition to the situation. Its not really the thing you first think of eating first thing in the morning

The Cornetto joke is marvellous.
It's not just "not something you would eat in the morning", it's absolutely the last thing you would eat in the morning.
Also, the fact that Ed demands his cornetto, without even fully waking up and considering what he would like for breakfast, makes it all the more hilarious. It's almost instinctive for him. I think it's one of the best one-liners in the movie.

Hey, I like ice cream early in the morning! I also like it at about 8 or 9pm in the middle of winter. I am not joking. When I bought Spaced all those weeks ago at the Metrocentre I passed McDonalds on the way out. As much as I hate McDonalds, I do love McFlurry's so I begged my mam for a quid and bought a Munchies one. I walked outside eating it. It was freezing cold, pitch black and blowing a gale but I was still loving the ice cream.
I like telling stories that no-one will be paticularly interested in

mmm munchies mcflurries!!! i ate about 50 of those when they were around. but all the mcdonalds in my town apart from one ran out of the sauce so had to always go to the same one.
thats an even more uninteresting story!

Indeed it is.
I think I shall randomly request a Cornetto the next time someone does a lunchtime Tesco's run at work.

A Cornetto is a ice cream which the U.K have it got a laugh in the U.K but the U.S had no Idea what it was because they don't have them.

strange that Simon and Edgar decided to change the "she's so drunk" line from "she's so pissed" so that the america market understand but didn't think abt the cornetto line

We call Cornettos Drumsticks here in Vancouver, but I still knew what Ed was talking about when I saw the movie. Maybe they are called Cornettos here...I'm off to the corner store to check it out. Mmmmmmm.

The best bits of the cornetto is the fact they dont melt the second you get them, , picking off the solid chocolate dribles with your tongue and the big lump of chocolate at the bottom of the cone!
Sorry but every time I think of cornettos I want to sing the pavarotti song

It is the way Ed says it as well that makes it sooo funny. Also damn you all for making me want one now!
