Howdy - thought I'd tap the collective filmic knowledge of you lovely people to find out where Casshern is showing.
I know it's due for release on 18th February, but cannot find it listed.
West End/Central London cinemas would be perfect.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Baz
YES!

Sorry.

I love this film, it's fantastic. I didn't know it was getting a cinema release?? I take it, it will be just at the independent cinemas?

Hmm i'll go ask my friend. He's a projectionist, he'll know.

I'm all excited now. smile.gif

Apparently so, Baz - but I just don't know where! Did you see it on 'dodgy disc'?
Baz
I have it on DVD.

Just got a messgae back and it's coming out in London on the 25th Feb. But not too sure at what cinema yet.

Can I ask where you got it?

I was pre-ordering "Kung Fu Hustle" yesterday (can't wait), and was tempted to get CASSHERN but they only had the Japanese version, which as usual was quite expensive
Baz
You can get the 3 disc version of eBay, which has English subs. I've seen it go on there for arounf £17, but I've also seen it go on there for £70. ohmy.gif

Get them while there there as they go quick!

Thanks..I'll have a search. BTW if you ever see a version of Japanese DVD for Kung Fu Soccer with English subs give us a shout. There used to be a guy in the States that would put subs on Japanese DVDs that didnt have an English sub option...but can't seem to find any trace of him anymore.
Baz
Never heard of Kung Fu Soccer. You sure it's not Shoalin Soccer?

Apparently its a Japanese TV Show in the same vein...I think 2 season 1 box sets are out, but no English subs
Baz
Haven't heard of that before, but if it's like shaolin Soccer, then it must be good!
Kick in the Head
I'm going to see Casshern when it comes out. I saw it in Japan and I enjoyed it, though didn't have much of a clue what was going on (but from what I gather, the english subs wouldn't help much either - its bonkers and barmy, but beautiful)...

Exactly what I'm expecting too!
Baz
I can comfirm that the film makes no sense what so ever, even with English subs. But it's just such a fantastic looking film with some great action sequences and the music is not too bad either. happy.gif

AH.... You know, you've got me interested now. I saw some bootlegs at a convention I was at....I might have to check it out next time.

BTW what type of action sequences?
Baz
Go To: www.casshern.com and view the trailer and you'll kind of see what I'm on about.

and if not, then were on about 1 man vs a shit load of robots and other super beings. happy.gif

EDIT:

Oh they've changed the site so I'm not sure if the trailer will be the same as it was before as I can't view it from work.

Baz
It is good, go and see it!
The Phantom
It did look good from the trailer I saw and it got a pretty good write up in a magazine I've discovered recently called Neo. Worth checking out if (like myself) you like your eastern cinema, anime and computer games.
