also, the original had tree rape....well, it made me laugh.

Evil Dead II is THE benchmark for comedy horror. I never seen anything else that comes close.

I've also met a woman who is the spitting image of the woman in Evil Dead II who gets locked in the cellar and tries to get out through the trapdoor. I used to work with her husband.

Doh! Just saw this post thinking it was on tonight . I got my hopes up as i've never seen it before but i want to. Why didn't i see this post last nite?

Well *cough* (puts on nerd hat) Not a true remake no. I'm not sure of the intnent but it is possible to edit ED 1,2 and 3 together to make one film. You see if you cut out all of the stuff from the opening to the moment when Ash is launched through the woods by the Evil Force from ED 2 and put the flying through the woods bit after the end of ED 1, and you can work out where ED 2 and 3 go together, it would make one long ED film. (Hat off)

Although apparently plans are afoot to remake Evil Dead AGAIN. This time WITHOUT Bruce Campbell .

Nah, its similar but not a complete remake and its a damn good film.Yeah the first one had abusive trees, but this one has so much more, the hand, the chainsaw, the "Swallow this!"......groovy!

I think the fact less people went made it scarier aswell.
