Sorry, but in good conscience I couldn't vote for Shaun in every category it was nominated in. Sorry...

I could because, IMHO, it was the best in the categories that it was in...

Well, it wasn't a 'surprise' for me as I was expected it to be brilliant and it was DotD however knocked my socks off as I had no expectations at all.
In comedy, I had to vote for Anchorman because on a pure comedy level I think it was the funniest film of the year. Shaun had more depth, but Anchorman has me in hysterics everytime I watch it and as funny as Shaun is I was never as near the verge of pant wetting as I was with Anchorman.
I think I voted for it everywhere else though.
Though I would have liked to see Nick in the breakthrough category instead of Simon.

Couldn't get on with Anchorman. Not sure why but I suspect it was because I watched it on a plane. I've never enjoyed anything I watched on a plane. Not only do you not want to laugh for fear of looking like "the crazy guy in 22F" to your fellow passengers, but I suspect the funniest bits (especially in something like Anchorman) are all removed in case the kiddies watch it.
Perhaps I should give it another chance. Right after I've given Napoleon Dynamite another go.

It's well worth another go, there are a lot of subtle jokes played on the absurd. I find Will Ferrell very similar to Chevy Chase in his earlier work (Fletch etc).

Yeah... perhaps this time I'll watch it on a screen that's more than five inches across and I'm more than five inches away from.
We appear to have strayed off-topic a little. Ach well.

I voted, some were easy to select (Shaun of the Dead!), some were really hard (eg. I really thought The Incredibles and Hellboy were vastly overrated).
Still, we shall see...

I would love to see Simon win breakthrough performance. Cos he's great and everything. And Shaun Of The Dead deserves to win in every catagory it's nominated in. Not that I'm biased or anything.
Honestly.

Best DVD of the Year: Star Wars Trilogy
Unless and until George Lucas sees fit to come to terms with his original creations and allow the world to purchase the theatrical versions on DVD, without all of his twisting and tweaking and other digital tampering, I'm not interested. Which may never happen, but there are ways of coping.

Hayden Christensen appears at the end of Jedi instead of Sebastian Shaw, I thought I was dreaming!
