Now, try and vote with the minimum of sentimentalilty (though this approach doesn't work for questions like "marmite or marmalade?")

I wil be seeing Layer Cake shortly, and have heard good things about Dead Mans Shoes but until I see them I'm going with SOTD....

ALso there's a nice selection from Shuan in the other categories. However me thinks that it'll be swamped by the bigger films..yes geeky people voted for it but you might have the slightly more ardent film fans going for:-

"Before Sunrise - because it made me fee love again"

So what do yous think the Shaun Team's chances are in the other categories?

And how could Eternal Sunshine be so overlooked in the Best Picture nominees?! Yes, it's time to get over the back slapping/smoke blowing Oscars but it's......JOEY MAD!!!!

Hurrah, it's being shown on Five and NOT SKy "You've Got Mail and X-Men for eternity" Premier.

I was just moaning aboutthe Oscars. I am extremely pleased it's in Empire's.....of course you realise that al the votse have been cast so the bastards can sit back and, you know, KNOW!!! Whilst we sit going "Shaun! Shaun" Or "Twiglets!"

I also don't know why but a Linkin Park track just came into my ears...it's the one with lots of scratchin' and nosie*

*ie anyone of them, ever. Thought he teenager in me still enjoys the neutered ragin' they contain

I chose Dead Man's Shoes.

I'm sorry, Shaun of the Dead is the obvious choice (and I did vote for it in the Empire Awards), but Dead Man's Shoes was criminally overlooked last year, and I really hope Paddy Considine wins Best British Actor (sorry Simon!).

Christ, did anyone at Empire actually proof read that mini-site? I've just noticed about 6 spelling/grammar mistakes.

Sorry. I'm a very sad lady.

I hope Simon wins best actor, he deserves some recognition for it. wub.gif

If you haven't checked out the news section (why not?) Shaun Of The Dead won Best British Film. Sadly Simon lost out to Paddy Considine for Best British Actor, Kate Ashfield was beaten to Best British Actress by Kate Winslet and Edgar missed out on Best British Director to Mathew Vaughn.

But, hey, Best British Film! biggrin.gif
