Full Version: The ULTIMATE Buffy Villain

OK... the above had the highest scores, so lets settle this once and for all...
Starscream`s Ghost
Well, I`m voting for the original Big Bad yet again. Spike had it all, charm, humour, coolness, and had some really evil plans.

Shame they made him a pussy from season 5 onwards.
Ingram
I'm going for Angelus with this one. Fried gold.
Svein
I'm sticking with Angelus... After all, the Judge found no trace of humanity!
gulfcoast_highwayman
Angelus, for what he did to Miss Calender, the bastard.

He just killed her, what he did to Giles - now THAT was evil!

The Mayor, the Mayor, the Mayor!!! I love him, he made me giggle muchos.

Great character, he should have been in it more. There were references to him early on but nothing as good as his appearances in season 3. The whole paternal thing with Faith was really funny.

The Mayor gets my vote....he had ambition
Svein
What I liked about the Mayor was his complete humanity one moment and sheer darkness the next!
Stella MM
You know, Spike shouldn't be in this poll. He was never a Big Bad, he just thought he was. He was a red(-shirted) herring; Angelus was the only real Big Bad in series two.
Svein
And let's not forget in Season 4 of Angel!
feak
Angelus - cause of all the emotions involved and the playing and that, just like I said in the first one wink.gif

A well written and portrayed character it has to be said.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is scared of Buffy's evil nemiseseseseses... wink.gif

He did kill two Slayers though!

Dru killed a slayer and she's not on there. I think the list is basically the antagonists that Buffy herself has had the most trouble with.

Season 1 - The Master
Season 2 - Angelus/Spike & Dru
Season 3 - The Mayor/Faith
Season 4 - Adam/The Initiative
Season 5 - Glory
Season 6 - Evil Willow
Season 7 - The First

Spike really was a backseat villain in comparison to Angel.
Draven Grey
Angelus.
Liam already had a predisposition toward the darker side of life; primitive but it was still there. He was the cruelest vampire the world had ever known.
Period.
Angelus enjoys being evil, his soul was forced on him. It’s apparent in episodes like “Soulless” and “Calvary” that once his curse is lifted he is just as bad as he ever was. Even locked in a cage he was still able to effectively change his environment. That’s what ranks him up there with the great ones like Hannibal Lector.
Zoe
the Troika
Stella MM
Pfft. What did they do, apart from be a bit gay?
fear_of_pop
It's not clear whether we are voting on ultimate as in favourite, or ultimate as in most evil, or ultimate as in got the most naughty stuff done.

(I voted the Troika, regardless.)

Andrew, woo! etc.

Nothing wrong with being a bit gay...

They had loads of evil schemes, the freeze ray, that device for making women sex slaves, that one that speeded up time (but only for Buffy) and let's not forget it was Warren that stopped all this pussy footing around and actually shot the slayer (alright so he only managed to kill Tara but still, pretty evil).

Plus Andrew became the main source of comic relief in series 7.
Stella MM
Oops, I didn't mean to suggest that being gay was an evil thing.

The thing I didn't like about the Troika was that their evil doings were too real-world. They dealt in rape, murder and guns, rather than mystical evil forces and strange powers that killed people. It seemed too far away from the original evil-as-metaphor premise of the series.

Don't worry I didn't think you were.

You're right of course about their wrong doings, but surely this makes them all the more evil as they were one of the few forces of genuine evil in the series, and they didn't have the excuse of being a demon or not having a soul.

Plus they were evil geeks and hence provided some of the series biggest chuckles for me.

Hence they're the ultimate

Though there were some brilliantly done episodes with Angelus ('I only have eyes for you' was pure genius).

Ooh, fantastic point.
BlueMessiah
went for angelus because of how evil he was to buffy in season two, his cruelty was hard to watch because you knew how she felt about him. I loved the mayor and season three was amazing but Angel has always been such a complicated character and no one has matched his malicousness as a bad character! (big Buffy fan over here!) other favourite buffy bads:
Faith (aka my other girlfriend!)
ok so she's sexy hot and dangerous, that episode in angel five by five where she tortures Wesley so evil!
Vamp willow so hot and so baaad! Never convinced by evil season 7 willow.
season 7 was crap anyway!

These days I preffer angel.
Svein
I still stand by Angelus. As the Judge said... there was NO trace of humanity left in him!
