although it seems that there a number of final fantasy haters is any one looking forward to the new ac film ive seen about 15 min of it and it looks so so so damm good

I've downloaded a couple of trailers and it does look quite remarkable. It also looks like they've steered clear of the moogles and chocobo crap - Cait Sith doesn't seem to be in the movie either.

could someone elaborate a bit more please, sounds interesting!

FF7: Before Crises - Prequel to FF7 where you play as the Turks. It's a Japanese mobile phone game
FF7: Dirge of Cerberus - A Sequel which looks like a FPS game starring Vincent and Cait Sith.
FF7: Crisis Core - A game that apparently no one knows anything about.

There's also a an FF7 Snowboarding game for mobiles.

Man I am so friggin hanging for this movie...but it's running a bit late...should have been out by now.........

Recently saw a fairly high quality subbed copy and I have to say WOW, worth every second of waiting. Anyone else seen it? Fave bits etc

I know nothing about FF but i still loved it (oh and i got the joke about serephoths ring tone)

Since I downloaded it about a week ago, I've watched it about 20 times. It's that good.

Not just because FFVII just so happens to be the best damn game I've ever played (I rate it over all my favourite movies), the visuals made my eyeballs implode with delight. Well scripted too!

Fave bits...

- All the music. Nobuo is god and The Black Mages are an ace concept band. One Winged Angel with a full orchestra AND screaming guitars. My word.

- Cloud's new bike. His sword deployment thing is just too cool.

- Cloud's new sword(s).

- All scenes with Vincent - especially when he's deftly hopping between pylons and jumping around like a ninja in front of Bahamut.

- The intro. 498 years earlier...

- Loz's victory theme ringtone.

- Reno smacking Rude in the face by accident. UORYAAAA-*thwack*-whoa.

- When all the old favourites turn up to fight Bahamut...then everyone launching Cloud up after him to cane him with Climhazzard. Wicked!

- The little limit break references you can see people doing.

- *MEGA SPOILER* Cloud getting n00bed by Yazoo at the end...I was all O__O

- Sephiroth. Boner inducing!

Things that annoy me about it though...

- Summon materias are RED, not BLUE

- Tseng got killed by Sephiroth...why's he back?

- Only got to see Midgar and the Forgotten Capital...and that random Shinra office. Would've been cool to see Junon and stuff.

Edit @ Amazongirl...DVD release only unfortunately as far as I know...unless you heard different? Would love to see it on the big screen...

Saw this the other day with subtitles (I know downloading stuff is frowned upon, but in my defence I decided to buy the dvd beforehand, mod are welcome to remove this post of they disagree, I wont mind )

I was suitably impressed, I'll say nowt about plot obviously, it's nice to see old characters in lovely new high resolution.

Thought I'd add that as far as I know the english version has been targetted at first quarter 2006, which isn't too far off if it arrives on schedule.

The music was indeed a high point. I watched it with a friend and everytime a new piece of music came on we instantly said where in the game it was from. Brings back many a memory. The limit breaks were sweet as well. Seeing Tifa throw in a sumersault buring here 1 on 1 was a nice little detail.
One thing thats plagueing me though, the English dubbing. Having watched a mass amount of Anime and heard more than my share of awful voiceovers, I really fear that they'll screw it up. Fingers crossed...

Bad news kids. Cait IS in it, though not with his giant Moogle-bot. He sits on Red's back and seems to get on his nerves lots by batting down on his head.



They did fine with The Spirits Within...Ving Rhames, Steve Buscemi, Donald Sutherland, James Woods, Alec Baldwin, Peri Gilpin...I wonder if AC will have such starry western voice talent?

I really like the original Japanese VO, I have a feeling I might appreciate the officially subbed version over the dubbed...we'll see tho.

Apparently, with the Japanese DVD you get an anime about Zack's past. Anyone know anything.

Yeah, the boxset has got all kinds of extra stuff...hopefully the short about Zack will be an extra or something. Boxset itself is something like £250!

Thats insanity! What the hell does it come with to cost £250? The English release cant come soon enough. Its killing me

Watched it again last night. It dawned on me that if you dont know the game inside out, then the film means nothing. Wathced it with a bunch of people not familiar with it and spent most of it explaining what was going on. Also got to see Last Order. Very good. Fills in a lot of gaps from the game nicely.

Yeah, only 2 out of the 6 people I watched with were fans of the game...after about 10 minutes of pausing and explaining, the rest just decided "bollocks to it, just play it and we'll just ooh and ahh at the pretty graphics"
