So... do you listen to radio?
tigerlily
6 Music. Cos it's ace.

I'll listen to Radio 1 in the mornings on my walk to work, and sometimes when the Session in Scotland is on.

But for most of the day I'll listen to 6 Music. I used to stream XFM, as it played better music than Radio 1, but it still played the same songs over and over. Plus, since it's a London station, then none of the gig listings really had relevance to me up in Edinburgh.

6 Music though, plays a fantastically wide range of music. At the moment, Fool on the Hill by the Beatles has just followed on from Beck. And you get the idea that the presenters are enthusiastic about the music because they actually, genuinely like it, rather than it being the latest scene.

And the gig guide makes me laugh like a drain. It's bitchey and well informed, which I'm a fan of.

And it's on now, hurrah!

Radio 4 mostly, lots of listen again comedy, drama and SF from Radio 7's website (don't have DAB) and of course my very own personalised radio station at Launch.

Don't listen to the radio much - can't get my goddam computer speakers to work - but when I have my car back I shall resume listening to Kerrang, flicking over to Radio 2 when Eminem comes on...

I wake up to Sarah Kennedy on my radio alarm clock (Radio Two), mainly as I find her annoying and I am forced out of bed.

Usually I listen to Five Live on Saturday afternoons, Radio Two for Jonathan Ross on Saturday mornings and the rest of the time is a BBC 6 Music Fest. I used to love listening to Andrew Collins but my work schedule doesn't allow that anymore. I'd love get some kind of DAB for my car to go with the one I've got at home.

I'd like to listen online, but my workmates are quite nice and I don't want to appear rude. Now, if I worked from home.......

I wake up to XFM, but when I was at uni I listened to Radio 2 a lot as there are sod all local stations in Norwich that don't play shite. I always listen on a Saturday though as I love Jonathan Ross and Dermot O'Leary's show is quite good too. I also love Jammin' which has just started a new series happy.gif
I don't have digital radio so I can't listen to 6 Music, but it sounds great! I'll miss UK radio when I move to the states, I'll spend my life streaming it over the net smile.gif

Five live for the football, radio 4 longwave for Test Match Special. Never listen to music radio - I've got 8000 mp3s on my Creative Zen so I don't see the need.

Radio 1 in the mornings
Radio 2 Saturdays
Radio 4 Sundays and evenings
BBC7 Most of the rest of the time
Popjustice Radio-If/when I get itunes back.
superfurryandy

But mainly R4.

I listen to Virgin in the morning 'cause of Pete and Jeff (make me laugh) and sometimes Virgin in the evening 'cause Kelly plays a lot of classic rock!
whitey
Radio 4 in the car, 1Xtra at home.
Stella MM
I like to listen to 6Music in the mornings through the freeview box. Like tigerlily said, it's got a great range of music and they rarely play dull chart stuff. Sometimes we have Radio 2 on at work but I can't fucking bear Jeremy Vine and his awful chat show where people who talk crap talk about crap.

I hate Sarah Kennedy as well. It's like some mad old drunk bag lady has wandered into the Radio 2 studio and started wittering into the microphone and the producers are too scared to stop her. Every morning. She sounds like Jonathon Coe based Hilary Winshaw on her.

Yeah, they are awful, but they're not as bad as Moyles. Nobody's as bad as Moyles.

I dunno... they provide the most amusement for me in the morning...

I only tend to listen to the radio in the mornings.

When I'm in London it's the Christian O'Cornflake Breakfast Shake on XFM

When I'm in Houston it's Rod Ryan on the Buzz.

Now that talentless fuck bugs the everliving shite out of me!
Raven
Classic FM, which is the only radio I ever tend to listen to (and then only when I'm in my bathroom).

Will be listening too it almost constantly this weekend however as it's their annual Hall of Fame - that's where they play the top 300 pieces of classical music as voted for by their listeners.

I believe it starts tomorrow morning at seven and lasts until Monday evening.

It’s a great way to hear a good selection of classical music if anyone is interested!

shazam
96.4 fm your on the wave,SW wales local radio rubbish songs but the DJs have a good sense of humor
Lee
Radio 4. They have comedy every weeknight at 6:30 the sketch shows like Concrete Cow, The Consultants, The Now Show, The Sunday Format and The Museum of Everything are the best, the sitcoms vary from average to lame, although Giles Wembley Hogg Goes Off is top notch. The quiz shows are ok.
Jon 79
Xfm usually.
Although Radio 1 beats that after about 11pm.

Would if I could. I wake up to Wogan, but the least said about that the better. When I get a chance I try to listen to Lauren Laverne on XFM. Some quite nice alternative/indy selections on there. Zane Lowe on Radio One - also very rarely. When I'm off school and revising I tend to listen to Colin and Edith though... but XFM wins overall.

I'm an xfm man myself.

Despite being a commercial station, it still somehow retains an air of the retro-indie. Lauren Laverne is a peach of a DJ, and Christian O'Connell is laugh out loud hilarious. Richard Bacon and his "not a key show" never failed to crack me up. It has a sense of humour that no other radio station can seem to manage.

I got a little spongey radio cube for my birthday from my friends at uni, and all I could get was radio one. I tried listening to it, I really did. I think tuning into Moyles gave me a very bad first impression, he would play one song, and then I'd have to listen to him being an utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter cock for ten minutes.
andytck
I listen to KEY 103(Manchester station) in the morning then switch to Jo whiley on Radio 1
Then at night its jazz FM on the net, The late lounge for chill out beats biggrin.gif
