Ingram
The king of sequels

No contest.

If you mean Empire by that, agreed.
Svein
Wow... TTT doesn't have a single vote...

Probably due to the fact that it cashed in on 9/11!
Ingram
One word, "Yoda".

Helms Deep was good, but Empire Strikes Back had SO much more.
Svein
TTT also had the Ents in Isengard!

..and there was me thinking that was an euphemism for something else!..

Two Towers without a doubt er how did the film cash in on 9/11 exactly?..The only connection I can make is the Twin Towers thing but the book was called the Two Towers and that was written decades before 9/11, perhaps I'm being thick here?..

I think Svein was being ironic - there were rumours at the time that The Two Towers would be re-named so as not to offend anyone.

On-topic: Empire - greatest science fiction film ever made? Possibly. My favourite science fiction film ever? Definately.

I think TTT is the worst of the LOTR movies. The most linear, staightforward of the books became a sprawling mess with stupid bouncing wolves and made-up shit. That said, the extended version is far superior.

I didn't mind the changes because lets face it... the book chapter for chapter would have been a boring movie!

Changes are not a bad thing per se, but the addition of Aragorn's Warg fight and subsequent swim felt shoehorned in order to have Arwen appear, and the arrival of the Elves at Helms Deep was not only pointless, but completely non-sensical. Those are two major things that really pissed me off.

I was glad Jackson created more opportunities for Arwen to appear. In the books she was far from a complete character and was simply defined by her beauty, at least in the films she had something to do.

This is not an attack on how Tolkien writes women in general, Eowyn is extraordinary on both page and screen.

Arwen is a product of when she was written.
Starscream`s Ghost
Arwen is an elf. Elves are dull.

Indeed, and for a modern film version I think it was right to flesh her out a bit.
