Hideous beasts, heroic princes and crap special effects. If the Royal Wedding hasn't already sated your desire for these why not do what Bilbo Bagshott would do and tune into Krull on Channel 5 at 1:30 this afternoon.
Raven
Good film Krull - well, it was when I was eleven anyway! May tune in . . .

And not forgetting the added bonus of Robbie Coltrane, Liam Neason and Todd Carty for curiosity value
Raven
And an early James Horner soundtrack - sounds a lot like Wrath of Khan in places too! (if memory serves!).

Its on in 5 minutes! Get the kettle on.
Raven
Eek! Dilema! Because of the crapness of my TV I can only watch Freeview through my video player - which is currently taping the first episode of Point Pleasant . . . Turn off the video and watch Krull, or miss the first 30 minutes? wacko.gif

Fantastic special effects for it's day! Especially the morphing effects. Very impressive for 1983. This is one of the films only redeaming features.
... that, & Coltrane's gay 'tash.

still love krull now, good film biggrin.gif

And no one noticed Bernard Bresslaw as the Cyclops?

Or Francesca Annis (Ladt Jessica in Lynch's Dune) as the Widow of the Web

Or Freddie Jones (Thufir Hawat in Lynch's Dune).

A decent fantasy film of the 80's. Let's face it, if you look at 80's fantasy there wasn't much worth watching. Beastmaster, Krull, Conan, Hawk The Slayer, the Sword and the Sorcerer, Willow, Deathstalker, Ator.....some good some awful.

I like the Horner soundtrack, very 'grand' but I wish it had been released on CD.
