This is slightly geeky really, in fact its a bit weird and i'm slightly freaked out by myself

Well, you know the scene when the "alternative" group, led by Yvonne, cross paths with Shaun's group in the allyway. I noticed that after Yvonne hugs Shaun to say goodbye, she sort of leans in to kiss him really quickly and then stops herself and walks off!

For some reason, i've always thought of Yvonne's and Shauns relationship as some toned down, parrellel world version of the aftermath of what would happen if Daisy and Tim got together and then split up or something...because they seem really arkward with each other, like they used to be in a relationship? It seems Yvonne still has feeling for Shaun aswell. I've clearly thought about this too much haven't I

There's so many Spaced "crossovers" in their scenes I can barely count.

I just watched SOTD after finally seeing Spaced and got a ton more laughs out of it. The best was when Shaun is walking out of his house in the beginning and passes the shopping cart. I blurted out "there's the shopping cart!" My roommate who has yet to see Spaced didn't understand. But he will.

[insert snide geek remark about the abundance of crossovers]

because it is now awkward or something im just grasping at straws. (did i use that phrase correctly?)

When I first saw SotD I thought (I still do, kinda) that Yvonne and Shaun were exes. Am I alone there?

In the extras, Yvonne does the Mike dance "oof oof oof oof, REWIND!", showing that perhaps Shaun and Yvonne are "Tim and Daisy"?



Which is probably why it got cut, it would confuse people heavily.

I'm now crossing the line of too far now but, ahem.

1) In Skip to the end, Tim and Daisy have a baby.

2) We as a collective are saying that perhaps Shaun and Yvonne are Tim and Daisy when they've split up!

3) There was no little girl in Yvonnes group so....

....Yvonne and Shaun's/Tim and Daisy's little girl "Luke" must have lived with Yvonne and been {gulp} eaten by zombies!

Am I the only one who thought that the aborted 'kiss' was just them both going in the same direction then going around each other?

Just my contribution to the conversation, i'm fascinated by all these interpretations of this part of the movie and what this means in the wider scheme of things

I thought that too...the way they are a little bit nervous around each other when they bump into each other on the street.

And maian - I think it's interesting how we (as nerdy, obsessive overanalysers of Spaced and SOTD) come up with so many possible interpretations for every look, word and shot. Yay geekiness!

Yeah that's what I thought too. Just a nice little awkward moment, making the film more real life if you know what I mean.

Agreed about the exes thing, though I also thought maybe Shaun and Yvonne just got really pissed and slept with each other once. And neither one of them wants to admit that it was GREAT, because they don't quite remember how drunk they were at the time. Awwwwkward!
