Good ol' Magnum and QL creator Bellasarius gave an interview to the Washington Post and stated his intentions have a new run of Quantum Leap with Sam making an appearence in at least the first episode and Al and a new female leaper taking the mantle from there!

Could be good!

Ooooh that could be quite cool! I used to love that programme, but found the end of it really sad. (Yep, I'll admit it... I may've shed a tear or two (*shame*)) smile.gif

I wouldn't hold your breath, the article in question was written last October and if you have read this thread you will already know that JAG has been cancelled . . .

Not saying it won't happen, I'm just saying don't count yer Chickens . . .

On the plus side, with Enterprise having been cancelled, I'm guessing they could get Sam back for the whole shindig if they wanted too!
gulfcoast_highwayman
C'mon, rescue Sam!

Have Alliyah turn up again, she can recruit Al and together they can save Sam.
flakmonkey
Yeah! We should start a "Save Sam" campaign. Poor guy, having to leap from life to life for all eternity... *sniff sniff*

Yeah, but they made it clear in the last episode that that was his choice - if he really wanted to go home he could have done so at any point.
flakmonkey
Eh well... I still found it sad.
m0r1arty
yeah, but, no, but, yeah

Sam chooses to go back to Al's first wife and hence save him from all those other failed marriages (remember she thought him dead in the POW camp!) as oppose to leap 'anywhere he chooses' (ie home) - BUT if he stopped Al having all those wives then how did he complete all those missions where it was essential for Al to have knowledge from his former wives (remeber the acrobat episode) and hense get to the cafe in the end?!?

But if there are infinite choices in a quantum universe and he can indeed have changed Al's life in only one of those infinites then he could very well still have his Al unchanged.........(?)

There'll have to be some big startoff with Zuthos vs. Alpha/Ziggy though!!

Um... They're going to ditch Sam and have a female lead? Interesting... hmmm... not sure how much that would affect it... Me thinking hard about things... Good, bad or ugly...

I'd watch it anyway, I loved the old series. The really funny ones though were when he leapt into women's bodies and Al would always comment on those!!, it wouldn't be the same there.
m0r1arty
Rumour has it that it's Sam's Daughter (kinda) and she is going looking for him because he cannot control whats going on (?)

Sam's daughter from the trilogy where he was in love with that woman but loved her as three different people (in alabama I think)

Only it's not his daughter cause the DNA would be different...or something

Sounds like fun. still not sure how I feel about it
flakmonkey
It could be good, but I just don't think you can beat Mr Bacula for his "Oh boy...!". I loved the old series. Think I'm gonna haveta buy some... Amazon have series one for £15 or so... smile.gif
spacemonkey
We'll just have to wait and see then. What was your favourite episode?
flakmonkey
Ah man, I dunno. The ones when he jumped into a womans body were always good for a laugh. The Marilyn Monroe one was good. I think I pretty much loved em all.
spacemonkey
I think my favourit was the one where he ended up in that beauty paegent and did a carmen miranda number
m0r1arty
The Lee Harvey Oswald 2 were good,

So was the Sephen King horror one,

Oh and the one Al disappeared and was replaced by Roddy McDowell (not andy mcnabb)

The serial killer one too!

Oh and the one Al gets to be the leaper

and the Asyluem one,

The biker one when he meets erm, was it Kerouac?

and......

He never returned home

-m0r

NB, the first episode was called the pilot episode, thats quite funny from the outset,!!! Did it ever Jump the Shark?
gulfcoast_highwayman
I liked Kamikaze Kid or any where he swapped places with Al.

The Leap Home was a belter as well.

I also don't care if it was his choice. I cried llike a big girl when it ended. RESCUE SAM!
flakmonkey
Atta boy GH! biggrin.gif
m0r1arty
Okay,

Who didn't cry is abit easier

That onion I had just cut, along with the death of my grandfather - as well as a hormonal imbalance due to my puberty years were all going on at the same time, so alittle splash of saline appeared at my tear duct just as the end of the prog happened.....

So did anyone not cry?

-m0r
flakmonkey
Ah men who aren't ashamed to admit to shedding the odd tear or two. I like it! Lol! Yeah, I think you'd've had to've been a hard hearted bitch/bastard to have stayed dry-eyed through the end. smile.gif
widowspider
This could either be really fantastic or really shite...fingers crossed for the former! And with the lovely Scott Bakula freed up from Enterprise, he could be a recurring character if the new lead is going to be his daughter or something.
I LOVED the old Quantum Leap...so many face episodes! The one where he is the sidekick of the old guy in the sci-fi TV show that he loved as a kid, where he realises that the guy had come up with Sam's theory of time travel before he did...awesome! And everyone cried in the last episode...you're a liar if you say you didn't tongue.gif
Hobbes
I haven't seen enoug of the old series - love what I have though. And I've never seen the final one, but I nearly cried at the end of Fresh Prince so I'm sure I'll cry at QL's ending!
flakmonkey
Oh! I didn't see the last Fresh Prince! What happened? smile.gif
Hobbes
They sold the house. Hilary became a TV woman, Vivian and Hil moved back out east, Carlton went to Princeton, Ashley went to dance school in NY and WIll stayed in LA to finish his education. It was nice, but sad. sad.gif

They should sooooooo bring FP out on DVD! That would be genius!
