I always really liked Ben Affleck, I admired his (and Matt Damon's) screenwriting abilities and his ambition and drive. He also seemed articulate and down to earth when interviewed and his position in Kevin Smith's film clique also endeared him to me.
Then came the whole Bennifer debarcle and I went off him a bit.
Though my cousin has recently been working with Jennifer, who she tells me is lovely and I'm inclined to believe her rather than the press.
Affleck's made some poor choices that's for sure, but I still like him.
Plus he was the bomb in 'Phantoms'.

You can tell he's an intelligent guy who got suckered in by the idiocy of mainstream American films. That's why he's so happy to take the piss out of himself in Jay and Silent Bob. One of his finest performances, that and Dogma.
He still comes across as a nobhead though.

Classic.
You know I once met a guy who looked like Matt Damon by approaching him and saying "Has anyone ever told you you look nothing like Matt Damon?" He laughed so of course I was well in there.
I later told him my other planned opener was "How d'you like them apples?", but I was worried he wouldn't get it. He said he would have loved it. Oh well, I pulled him anyway.
He did look just like him...hmmmmm

For goodness sakes, the man is incapable of acting! Alright so nowadays being good at acting doesnt seem to be a major requirement for actors, but you'd think he'd be able to do something. Instead he churns out a bigger stream of shit each year than a rhino with IBS!

Yeah, but as has been said before, he was the BOMB in Phantoms.
I like the guy, I just think he`ll never grow up, he just wants to be "one of the guys" too much.

He's also very good in 'Good Will Hunting' although that's still really Matt's film. He's very funny in JaSBSB, he's great in Dogma and Mallrats, irritating in Chasing Amy (but I suspect that's the point) and I really enjoyed his performance in Changing Lanes.
He has made a lot of terrible career choices, but that's quite sweet in its own way.
Who would have picked little Matt to end up being the action star?

A bloody good action star, too. The "Bourne" films rock my world.

See, I really like Damon as an actor but he does nothing for me girlie-wise. Neither does Affleck (though it could be the teeth. He still has his baby teeth, from the looks of it...) - and I'm inclined to agree that BFleck is generally at his best in the Kevin Smith ouvre.
Best of luck to him and Jen, tho. They seem happy. And I'd like it to work out if only to justify how any woman could walk away from Michael Vartan (squeal!) so easily. She's a stronger woman than me...

Did you hear why they represent Matt this way in the film?
"Stone, was surprised when Damon's puppet came out of the oven looking nothing like they were expecting him to.
He says, "When we looked at the plans for his head he looked good, but when we came out of the oven he just looked retarded. I think it was well thought out.
"Honestly, I think Matt Damon is one of the better actors around. I think he's a pretty great actor. He's pretty talented. And for no real reason, he is retarded in this movie."
It made me giggle so much.

All the Kevin Smith films have made me laugh. Especially since they all seem to take the piss out of the films before and the actors in them. "Chasing Amy" and the like... even though Affleck and Damon both starred in that Mork movie.

They'd be nothing without Smith, without him Miramax wouldn't have even looked at the script for 'Good Will Hunting'.

That`s one of my favourite bits of the film.
Let`s be honest though, the real star of that flick is Will Ferrell.
