Beautiful Quake 3 editing
It's 20 minutes long, so settle in.

If you're in the Birmingham area the fabulous Misty's Big Adventure are looking for extras to be in their latest video.

There are full details in the blog section of their myspace page here.

It sounds like a right giggle:

The Fake band are an 'of the minute', trendy, post punk, Franz Ferdinand / Kaizer Chiefs type affair. So we're looking for an audience for them. Think 80s revival, NME, groupies etc. Just do your best, we very much appreciate it.
Don't forget this is an open invitation so if you know of friends that might be up for it, do bring them along. The more the merrier!

I know a lot of people where that describes their entire wardrobe.

It's on the 13th of September at Birmingham Academy.

Two legends for the price of one..... or is it?

Off the special edition DVD, the full clip:

The Thamesmen (aka Spinal Tap) - Gimme Some Money

Go, Nigel, go!

Finding this made me so happy.

Airhead - Girls@play

In the year 2000 me and my housemates learnt the dance routine to this song, as it was constantly on 'The Box'.

We performed it in Ocean in front of our astounded friends.

I was the cop.

Can't view this at work, but is that the same Airhead that released the brilliant "Funny How"?
Zoe
The song is called Airhead and I imagine it was this girlband's first and only single.

Yes they may look very dated, and not translate to well on video, but I swear these were some of the most blisteringly good live bands of the late 80s/early 90s.

The Godfathers - Birth School Work Death

Doing Brit Pop too early to make it big The Boys Wonder - Shine On

Featuring Shirley Manson before she joined Garbage Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie - Blacker Than Black

Bit of an intro here (nearly 3 minutes!!)....Fatima Mansions - Only losers take the bus

Remember Ruby Trax had Fatima Mansions covering "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)?"... laugh.gif Quality.

Few songs remind me of being young more than this.

Where's me Jumper? - Sultans of Ping FC

It's like being 12 again. If the Kaiser Chiefs released this now it'd be a smash.

Its a shame they were considered a bit of a novelty band. Their album was actually quite brilliant.
Zoe
My boyfriend at the time loved them, though he was more of a cardigan man.

I blame Kurt Cobain.

I'm pretty sure I still have a copy of it somewhere.

A video that never fails to make me smile, doesn't hirt that it is attached to an absolutely brilliant tune as well.

Unfortunately, by copy I do mean copy. Don't know where the original came from.

I'm quite fond of this video seeing as it combines three things I like; Basement Jaxx, Communist imagery, and mad bastard Cossack dancing.

Basement Jaxx-Take Me back To Your House

I like the Fat Boy Slim video with the massive cds, books, biscuits and videos domino rally.

Johnny Cash-God's Gonna Cut You Down

Filled to the gills with stars from across the media landscape, some of whom have worked with Cash in the past whilst others just owe him a great debt or some tremenous amount of respect.

Also, since Kate Moss is one of those appearing in the new video, I thought it appropriate to drag out this classic. Just in case of you wondered what Kate Moss being buried would look like.

Delia's Gone

That Johnny Cash video is fantastic. Great cover of a great song.

Which of the videos, though? Both are rather nifty.
NiteFall
Oh sorry, the first one. With lots of people looking all black and white and moody like.

The track I named a thread after!

Kraftwerk - "Musique Non-Stop"

Love the track, love the clip, as it always struck me as the point at which pop culture caught up with them.
maian
A dual-plug here as this video is from one of my favourite bands and was directed by one of my mates.

Monkey Swallows The Universe-Science
PrincessKate
These videoes aren't exactly amazing, but this band plays some of the most brilliantly infectious ukelele pop ever.
And they're up against some stiff competition.
The Hazzards - Shut Up & Make Out
The Hazzards - Gay Boyfriend (Version I)
The Hazzards - Gay Boyfriend Version II
GundamGuy_UK
I'd like some help trying to remember the name of a song (and therefore find the video) from a fair few years ago (over 10, I'm sure).

All I can remember about the video was that it was French, and it had some people (presumably the artist) in afro wigs, going around a model city that was being engulfed in bubblegum.

Any ideas?

Another one that I remember even less about, all I can remember was an 80's woman wearing old-fashioned fairytale-type dress, looking very worried or scared and talking to the screen.
Kick in the Head
Charlotte Hatherley's Behave - excellent video directed by Oscar Wright, beautifully drawn and animated. And it stars Major Tom!

Have just fallen in love with this amazing Silverchair song and video (complete with cameo for Guy Pearce!) :

Been looking for this for while. Apparentley the video is NOT a joke. If it is, give the man his own show.

By the way, you haven't got a bad connection if it goes out of synch....his miming is that poor

No, it is a joke.

The real lyric is 'giving head to the man'.

You might notice a question from someone called 'Gulftastic' in the comments.....

I always wondered. The video always kept appearing on the all time worst lists, I have one of his CDs and its not "jokey" and all info I looked for on him on the internet seemed quite serious. If it is a joke he's kept it up well. Either way, I still love it.

I've just had a debate with Dean over whether or not Billy Squier (for the UKers who might not know, massively popular Jersey rrrrocker from the early-mid 80's well loved by the frat boy crowd) quietly came out a few years back. Neither of us can find anything but raging speculation on the web....mostly all tracing back to this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnlV8a1vIdE

...which is of course, by many, deemed the gayest video ever made. Yes, ever. Andy Bell would never mince around like Ed Grimley in an Erasure video.

ETA: anyway, if anyone can confirm, Dean and I will buy you a drink.

I just found my new favourite video.
Fred & Ginger make me cry.

Oh, man, I loooooved this video as a kid:

The Go-Go's - "Turn To You"

Big bouffant hairdos, girls in reverse drag, and Rob Lowe. Best video ever.

I also remember questioning my sexuality a little because I was attracted to Belinda Carlisle dressed as a boy. laugh.gif Look at her, tho - she looks like River Phoenix in A Night In the Life of Jimmy Reardon. Shit hot.
Zoe
A school play version of Spider-man? Utterly adorable

Quite a nice song too, even if all Snow Patrol tunes are essentially the same.
empathy-with-beast
I love that the Doctor Octopus kid. I'd like that costume.
Atara
That video is so sweet.

Had to turn the sound off. Snow Patrol are fucking horrible.

I've been on a real Rollins streak lately, and this is one of Corbijn's better videos, IMO. (It's not so terribly po-faced. tongue.gif)

One of those videos, along with Cunnigham's collaborations with Aphex Twin, that I always seemed to catch late at night after a few drinks and which left me thoroughly freaked out afterwards.
