I love YouTube - watching videos on it is my current habit. The Judas Priest one is excellent but few things beat this!

I love the way the 3 chicks walk in this 'sassy' way. Cos they are foxes, y'see. And the fat people terrorise the chick with the glasses cos she has GLASSES and is obviously a nerd. Duh! smile.gif

This is my fav cos it's so very Kids in the Hall and i makes me laugh:

I keep randomly saying 'shoes' to myself and laughing. I'm sad. smile.gif

We've already got a very similar thread to this, so I'm going to merge the two.

Featuring Paul Reubens as the crooked pit boss. Quality.

You rock at compilations. I may have to see if I can trade you something for a copy of that one...

You're not wrong. That is a better video. Doesn't hurt that the song is great either.

hey hey kids, pop video time.

its a couple of years old but its a good one. it distills the essence of early twenty first century western life and culture in four minutes of clean, pristine graphics. are you in an office right now?

Nice one pots, I'd never seen that before, I'll be showing my offline friends that one, I really liked it.

Ah, Royksopp. I really need to break out Melody AM again. I haven't listened to it in ages. A classic below:

Aphex Twin-Windowlicker

Probably not suitable for work.

Also, the latest video from one of my favourite new bands (certainly the best band ever to emerge from Ashby-De-La Zouch) The Young Knives.

The Young Knives-She's Attracted To

Suitably odd video to soundtrack the deranged song (not one of their strongest, sadly).

And another one, the delightfully cheap Weekends and Bleakdays

It's a terrible shame that TOTP has ended before they got a chance to perform because they promised me in an interview that they would perform without shirts on to ''highlight the vacuousness of modern music videos by showing some beer bellies for once''. Lovely guys and hopefully they can keep up the great output both sonically and visually.

Aw. That's really quite lovely. On a similar animated video note, I quite like Jose Gonzalez' new video for ''Put Your Hand On Your Heart''. In terms of appropriating a style and using it for your own ends it is quite an achievement.

Hmm, I don't think wee José is particularly comfortable with all that kind of stuff, but it looks pretty.

He does seem a little bit daunted throughout it all, but I put that down to the fact that his ladyfriend's fingers are bloody weird. They certainly scared me.

Watching 'Serenity' last night we were reminded of the fantastic video for Radiohead's 'Just', which amongst other places you can find here.

Just why is he lying in the middle of the pavement?

Y'know, I have always wanted to know why...but I can't lip read.

The theory I've always subscribed to is that the guy says ''Three minutes fifty-five seconds'' which the length of ''Creep''. He's lying on the floor because he's so sick of the song, so it's a convoluted snipe at their own song. This is in keeping with their hatred of the song after Pablo Honey was released and is, more than likely, complete bollocks.

Naaaaaahhhhhh.
maian
Hence the ''complete bollocks'' get out clause. Iy does seem like something they'd do; create an oblique video that people spend 11 years and counting discussing when all it was was a joke about their biggest hit (at that time).

Moddy goodness.

I remember getting soooo sick of it when it was on MTV once every half-hour. But now, it's kind of quaint.

I forgot they were that good.

First time I've had a chance to check the site out properly and I have so far

Bopped to the forgotten excellence of Danielle Dax
Been in awe of the pop brilliance Strawberry Switchblade
Fallen in love all over again with The Darling Buds
Stared blankly into the distance remembering how truly great The Godafthers were
Giggled at the bundle of big hair and madness Nick Cave was in The Birthday Party
Grooved & giggled to the super camp Imagination
And generally felt very, very old.
Sostie
Barnes & Barnes' sublime "Fish Heads" is on there ohmy.gif Starring (and directed by) a very young BILL PAXTON

And Danny Elfman...singing with Oingo Boingo

80's ruled.
NiteFall
That site rules. It has the video for Treat Your Mother Right by Mr T.

Thank fuck there is no footie tonight...I'm going to be there for hours.

Also worth seeing....

Norway's only Eurovision winner The Bobbysocks

The London Boys - gayer than Commando

Patrick Hernandez - how easily could he be a member of The Strokes?

Y Kant Tori Read - Tori Amos before she was Tori Amos. Her big hair metal period

Zodiac Mindwarp - on every level one of the greatest RAWK songs ever (lyrics are tongue in cheek excellence)

And for you horny chappies out there...the Belouis Some video is the "tits out" version biggrin.gif

Bjork-Triumph Of A Heart

Really strange, but the middle section really shows how inspired her Medulla album is, and what a bitch it must have been to make.
maian
As with ''Crazy'' Gnarls Barkley havce made two videos for ''Smiley Faces'' but I can only find the first.

Version 1

The second is brilliant since it features Dennis Hopper talking about how Gnarls Barkley was at the birth of rap and that a dance was dedicated to him the 1930s known as the Gnarlestone.
maian
Peter, Blorn and John-Young Folks

Lovely pop song with a nice animated video (it's about halfway down the page and starts when the song does)
pots
not really a pop video, but this reminds me why i love this guy.

Just when I was wondering if OK Go could top their brilliant A Million Ways video, they manage to really do something special.

There's a wealth of great, slightly obscure music videos on YouTube, so I thought it'd be nice to have a thread to share them all. Hopefully it'll mean I don't fritter away hours on there anymore, because you lot will pick out the good bits for me! That's the plan anyway...

Anyway, here are a few I like.

Otis Redding, Eric Burdon and Chris Farlowe on Ready Steady Go.

Sam Cooke - Blowin' In The Wind

Not actually a music clip but interesting all the same. A clip from The Rolling Stones documentary Gimme Shelter. Very sad really.

(I know there's already a pop video thread, but that seems more concerned with new 'uns, whereas I intend this one for old classics. Still, merge away if you feel the need, Mods!)
NiteFall
A Pearl Jam great.

edited to include

BB King and Eric Clapton- The Thrill Has Gone

I know this isn't rare, but this is a bloody great video and a fantastic song:
