The conversation was about Star Wars Beauty Princess Leia, for those who can't be assed going there, here's what was said:

As if Darth Vader, with all the power and government funding he can get his Sith hands on, would not be able to locate a baby boy with the same last name as him when it showed up in the Tatooine Census.

Perhaps they wanted Darth to know about Luke, he must have had some idea Padme was pregnant. Maybe Luke had been set up to be found and turned to the dark side?

Either way, the whole thing becomes increasingly harder to understand the more you think about it!!

I theory about this...

If Vader did not know that Amidala gave birth, why would he worry about his adoptive family... namely the Lars. After all, it's not as if Beru or Owen would be a threat to the Empire and then Vader only worried about Luke after he "came out" so to speak.

I think trying to make sense of the glaring plot holes between the prequels and the original trilogy is a bit of a hiding to nothing but for my two cents I reckon Vader didn't know Luke existed (hence the re-working of his chat with the Emperor in the DVD release of Jedi).

I'm also hoping for the scene where Yoda tells off the Jedi council.

what i want to know is, why does obi-wan tell luke that darth vader was a pupil of his before he went to the dark side, when, as we all should know, he was anakin before turning to the dark side
