Can't someone make it stop? She's everywhere!

I thought she'd gone - but she's now all over Channel 5! She was on in the morning AND the afternoon for a while - so I knew which channels to avoid and at what time - but now they've moved her back to the morning - is there no escape?!

I work erratic hours, so daytime TV is a break for me when I'm not on the internet - and I don't really dislike her - she looks pretty good too - it's her attitude, oh - and it's appallingly bad-taste TV. Should be called the "TRASHA" show. She's a bully - picking trash up off the street and parading them around, talking to them like they're shite - make you feel good does it, love? Are you really helping them?

I'm in two minds here though. As long as there is lowlife scum willing to take part in freakshows, there will be freakshows, but I am divided on whether making a spectacle of yourself on national television is wrong as it's exploiting the afflicted, or if it's due to their own stupidity and lack of pride, so they deserve to be ridiculed? And how much are they paid? They will keep flocking in to supplement the money they "get off the social" - and for those that are dysfunctional pond life sucking the tax payers dry, is it right that they get paid for their time? I'd love to know what they do get - and what you think about it . . .

I'd also love to witness the auditions.

"How emotionally fucked up are you?"
"7 kids, 6 different fathers . . . 23 years old . . . good."
"Substance abuse? . . . . nice."
"Violent relationship? . . . excellent."
"you're in - just tighten the scrunchie a little on your Croydon facelift when you go on . . .
Now let's see your teeth"

I think you're being too harsh on her there. Yes, it's trashy and it's mass dirty-laundry-airing but she's not as amoral as someone like Jerry Springer who doesn't even make a vague effort to offer his 'guests' any kind of support. I think Trisha sometimes does offer good advice and it sounds like they have counsellors to talk to the guests afterwards. Perhaps I'm projecting a bit here but it always seems to me that in some of the cases the guests must watch themselves back behaving so awfully and decide to change for the better. But, like I said, maybe that's wishful thinking.

However, the point needs to be made that the kind of people who want to go on Trisha to get help are exactly the people who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a chatshow as it's only going to make their problems worse.

Ah - but I'm not really convinced that guests on JS are genuine - are you? I think that even if they are genuine - they're briefed to "act-up" on stage. There is an abundance of nutters in the states, but it's obvious that they use actors too - you just need to look at their eyes and body language - and some even sound like they're memorising a script!

I dislike the idea of going on national tv to air your dirty laundry, but that woman really anoys me. Some of the people on there do appear to have genuine problems and be seeking help, but she is just so judgemental it must only make them feel worse. Not to mention the fact that she has a habit of undermining her guests and their problems by going on about her oh-so difficult and problematic life. Deal with it is what I say. You have a successful career and a family. Some of your guests don't. Don't think that just because you've had some bad times that no one else's problems are important.

Here's an idea, let's lock her in a celler, for she is the Doctor's true enemy.
