people rarely help in those situations its just wrong!!!
A couple of weeks ago when i was at work this old lady was pushed over and she couldnt get up. No one helped her they just walked over her it was wrong.
In the end we had to make a wall around her to stop them walking on top of her.
Sick bastards!!
that is a terrible - yet unfortunately true and representative indictment - of todays world!
totally off-topic re happy slapping, but related to people's apathy and lack of sympathy to other peoples misfortune: When i was at uni, i worked in the union as Steward, and got involved in quite a few scuffs and the likes. One particular night a girl fell (was pushed?) from the stage onto the dance floor below (approx 1.5 metre drop). The way she landed was horrible, and she was totally motionless. First aid got to her pretty quickly, and did what they could. We stewards had to move everyone back to give her enough room to breath and not be harrassed and also to allow the paramedics in as they were called pretty quickly. The way she was lying, it appeared as though a puddle of blood was growing from the side of her head ... so everyone thought that it was pretty serious. Apart from, that is, a group of first year students who realised that this girl who had fallen and perhaps cracked her head and was in a rather serious situation was actually quite attractive, and was wearing a very short and revealing skirt ... hence they decided to crouch down and look up her skirt whilst nudging and winking at each other. They were stadning a good five metres or so from her, but i saw them and went over and asked them to have a bit of respect. They stopped, but only for about 30 seconds ... at which point i lost it with them and got another steward to help me while i grabbed one of them and dragged them out, threatening to have them banned from the union. One of them then had the gaul to say to me "come on mate, every hole's a goal!" I almost hit him, but luckily i remembered that i was better than them (and also i possibly would have been up for a disciplinary if i had hit him!), and instead just took their union cards from them and physically threw one of them out! They were banned for a month.
EDIT - luckily, the blood was coming partly from a VERY small cut just above her ear, and from the fact that she had landed on (broken?) her nose. Still not very nice, but better than cracking your skull i should imagine!
(EDIT 2 - possibly should have broken the above into paragraphs, but I was just writing it as it came out!)
