Full Version: Happy Slap

In the media thread because of the recent ITV programme on it and due to the rather large amount of news of 'happy slap' television shows predominantly from the US. Basically the concept of 'happy slapping' is to assault random strangers on film to look cool. This idea is apparently a direct result of shows like Jackass, Dirty Sanchez and basically anything from that particular genre. The ITV show portrayed graduating themes of violence from these twats (opinion) from slapping to punching to even setting one poor bastard on fire.

Any thoughts?

(A quick google of "happy slap" should bring you up to date if youre not in the know)

I think a medium-stregnth slap has the potential to be funny. Once.

These twats (more of a fact, really), though, tend to think it funny over and over again to reach new heights of violence with strangers. They deserve a sharp kick in the balls, as far as I'm concerned.

Exactly. I personally know that I can handle myself pretty well in a fight but I still think that if some slimy-pikey SOB jumped out on me and just slapped me I wouldnt know what to do with it really. I just hope a few of them get a quick slap back, preferably from someone with either:

a) Latent built up agression
b) A world heavyweight title
c) A blackbelt in *blank*

I, personally, am a lover, not a fighter. Stuff like this really upsets me.

I experienced a random act of violence once, and it wasn't the violence that upset me, I can hold my own in a fight pretty well for a girl my age, but the utter futility and stupidity and pointlessness of it had me pretty shaken up for a couple days after. Violence only begets violence.

disgusting and evil and if they did it to me they would have broken fingers to pick up there teeth with.

This craze will last until some utter psycho gets slapped and stabs the chav who started it. I can see the Daily Mail headline now. very sad.
Agent Pickle
A friend of mine got sent some to his mobile and they are hideous. I really don't like it, and am waiting for a load of pikey scum to be set upon by hungry wolfhounds so that the entire lot of them go into hiding and never emerge again.

Fucked. Up. Shit.
shinyelvenqueen
as my gran would say "what is this world coming to?" its so wrong.
Sean of the Dead
That is beyond wrong. Bastards.
Rushmore
That is some sick stuff, what would make you want to do that.

Actually, quite a bit of "gang rape" is videotaped by the gangs. I wouldn't call this happy slapping. Rape, in any case is probably the most heinous crime, it makes me sick just thinking about it. The most shocking thing here, though, is the age of the attackers. Absolutely fucking out of order. They need a severe kicking in the balls.

This "craze" is very upsetting, and it really makes you wonder about they type of person who follows it. They are clearly people with no respect nor maturity. Disgusting.

I, personally, think that we need to send the pikey scum that perpetrate such wicked acts to some war-torn Third World shithole to fight our War On Terror for us. Strap a couple to the front of some tanks or something. Broadcast it worldwide for all to see.

Then we'll see if they think that sort of thing's funny. mad.gif

I read in a paper at the weekend that one perp was let off with a caution by Police after being arrested for happy slapping. Admittedly, that story did appear in The Mail (let me stress, not my paper) so I'll assume its maybe not totally as black and white as it first seems.

It does kind of make you hope that someone tries to happy slap you so you can vent all the dark urges and voices in your head into one violent, aggressive backlash against the attacker(s). That said, I don't want to get attacked and would never invite or welcome it.

Just makes me angry, thats all.

I know what you mean. I'm not a violent person, and even though i have studied a few different martial arts so I know i can handle myslef, the first thing I was always tought was that if there is a way to talk your way out of a situation then take it, or just run, only fight/defend yourself as a last resort.

BUT ... i do sometimes walk past a group of mouthy, rude, scumbags and think "please, just try something, or say something, i will make you regret it!"

The only fights i've gotten into over the past few years have actually been protecting innocent people from shitheads (including one time when I got in fight with two guys who were harassing a pregnant woman pushing a buggy with her todler in ... it was at a busy train station, and this woman walked the full length of the platform with these two scummers shouting at her and pushing/shoving her and NOBODY did anything! In the end i got up and walked about 50 yards over to her to help out! I don't know what i was more angry about, the twats who were annoying her, or all the people who did nothing!)

people rarely help in those situations its just wrong!!!
A couple of weeks ago when i was at work this old lady was pushed over and she couldnt get up. No one helped her they just walked over her it was wrong.
In the end we had to make a wall around her to stop them walking on top of her.
Sick bastards!!

that is a terrible - yet unfortunately true and representative indictment - of todays world!

totally off-topic re happy slapping, but related to people's apathy and lack of sympathy to other peoples misfortune: When i was at uni, i worked in the union as Steward, and got involved in quite a few scuffs and the likes. One particular night a girl fell (was pushed?) from the stage onto the dance floor below (approx 1.5 metre drop). The way she landed was horrible, and she was totally motionless. First aid got to her pretty quickly, and did what they could. We stewards had to move everyone back to give her enough room to breath and not be harrassed and also to allow the paramedics in as they were called pretty quickly. The way she was lying, it appeared as though a puddle of blood was growing from the side of her head ... so everyone thought that it was pretty serious. Apart from, that is, a group of first year students who realised that this girl who had fallen and perhaps cracked her head and was in a rather serious situation was actually quite attractive, and was wearing a very short and revealing skirt ... hence they decided to crouch down and look up her skirt whilst nudging and winking at each other. They were stadning a good five metres or so from her, but i saw them and went over and asked them to have a bit of respect. They stopped, but only for about 30 seconds ... at which point i lost it with them and got another steward to help me while i grabbed one of them and dragged them out, threatening to have them banned from the union. One of them then had the gaul to say to me "come on mate, every hole's a goal!" I almost hit him, but luckily i remembered that i was better than them (and also i possibly would have been up for a disciplinary if i had hit him!), and instead just took their union cards from them and physically threw one of them out! They were banned for a month.

EDIT - luckily, the blood was coming partly from a VERY small cut just above her ear, and from the fact that she had landed on (broken?) her nose. Still not very nice, but better than cracking your skull i should imagine!

(EDIT 2 - possibly should have broken the above into paragraphs, but I was just writing it as it came out!)
