Yes Sir!

Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory return with their third album, entitled 'Ooh La La'
on 22nd August, apparently. It is preceded by the single 'Ooh La La' on 8th August,
and is described on their website as sulky and sexy... can't wait! smile.gif

As well as performances at his year's V Festival, they have also scheduled gigs
at Brixton Academy (October 6th) and Manchester Academy (October 8th).

Anyone here fancy going? I'll most likely go to the Brixton gig....

Check out their recently revamped website for more information...

They were going to be at the Pilton Party last year, and I was going to go, but then they disappeared off the list...strange. But I'm glad I didn't go in the end, because, having been revealed as one of the best secretive gigs on Radio 1, hundreds of Keane fans swamped the place so everyone queued for hours.

Still, I look forward to a new album. I love the contrasting styles of both previous albums, so I'll be interested to see what comes up. Are they good live?

Very entertaining live, a real glam pop treat.

I went to see them supporting Duran Duran Duran at the N.E.C. last year (it was a freebie as my friend was reviewing them) Alison was awesome, she had a horses tail and did rude things with a theremin.

Agreed.

She did the same rude things with said theremin at the brilliant Somerset House gig in 2003, the naughty bint, grgrgrgrgrrr. Her black air hostess-style outfit was also rather fetching. wacko.gif

Early word on the new album so far says that it is going to be their most accessible yet (which, inevitably, probably means much more chart friendly, which may or may not be a good thing). Would be nice if it boasts a generous helping of Felt Mountain strangeness, but I'm expecting Black Cherry Mk.II, and very much looking forward to it.

The last Goldfrapp album made me want to turn my house into a den of inequity! Adored it and adored Alison's tail...what a women!

From what I've read about the album so far, and what I've heard of the single, it's going to be even more mainstream than Black Cherry was. Not sure I'm totally happy with that direction to be honest - much as I am glad they are getting the success and exposure, I do think they may end up compromising their artistic originality - a few hints of Felt Mountain would definitely be welcome, but to see something a little different from Goldfrapp this time wouldn't go amiss either. Still looking forward to it though.

I haven't got Black Cherry but I adore Felt Mountain. They have a very unique and distinctive sound on the album and I don't know if I'd want mainstream stuff from them either.
That said, I'll have to buy Black Cherry and look out for this new one as well.
