Terrible waste of some wonderful comics.
Excruciating improvised phone calls, tacky and predictable Michael Jackson jokes, and boring, reptitive impressions from Rory Bremner.
Won't be bothering to tune in again next week.
This really reminded me of that other rubbishy show with Bob Mortimer a few months ago. The set, the rounds, the format, it all seemed to be stolen. They even had a boring impressionist as the team captain, same as the Bob Mortimer thing.
Why is it that impressionists always insist on showing off? I mean, fair do's if it's appropriate and funny, but in most instances tonight it wasn't and Bremner would have benefitted from just taking a step back and letting one of the funny team members take part.

Didn't you find every aspect of the format to be stolen from a collection of similar shows, and the material to be totally predictable from beginning to end, on top of the fact that Rory Bremner and that My Hero bastard wouldn't just shut up and let the talented people say something?

From what I saw it just looked like the BBC were mashing together some shows that really work but doing it with minimal success. Although saying that I didn't watch it all and so my comment is worth little at most.

I thought the format was weak but for my money Bremner proved to be the funniest. I don't like that one out of the Proclaimers much.

the thing is, you have to put comics in a 'format' for tv. when it works - have i got new for you - it works brilliantly, but when it doesn't - FAQ U - its shit. ( i'm ignoring stand up, obviously )
it seemed to me like a radio 4 panel show shown on tv. thats no bad thing, the only problem is the makers have to come up with a visual side to the show and thats where most programmes like this fall down - they need to try and keep the eyes entertained as well as the ears.
but at the end of the day, bremner is paid to do impressions, and its always good to see lida smith on telly so i give it the thumbs up.

I thought it was OK. Didn't re-invent the wheel but I didn't expect it to. Just thought it was reasonably funny. Bremner's always good - particularly since he's become a sort of "Middle England" activist/research driven satirist. And agree with Pots....ALWAYS good to see Linda Smith on TV...and hear her on the radio.

but most of the time game shows arent exactly exelent there just theres to watch when somone funny is on or is theres fuck all on.
and they allways have one person whos annoying and just doesnt shut up if they mixed all shows together they should get a great masterpiece but it never seems to work
