There seems to have been a fair amount of banter recently about Chris evans on various threads here (Dr Who and Objects you despise spring to mind) and the views were quite polarised.

So ... i thought i'd conduct a short poll on the Ginger one to see what people really thought of him. I, for one, thought he was brilliant. I loved Don't forget your Toothbrush, and although i didn't watch it a huge amount at the time he was very good in the Big Breakfast. He was also quite good in this year's Comic Relief from what I can remember.

He don't bother me none... I just never saw why she was with him!
gulfcoast_highwayman
He touched Anna Friel and therefore must die.
spacegurl
I like him, he's clever and funny and seems really sweet too. I loved him on the Big Breakfast and i think TFI Friday used to be one of the best shows on tv.

unfortunately not, no, as we can't see individual's votes just the total numbers (or can we?)
Blind I/O
I voted "not bothered", though actually I quite like the bloke. He's made me laugh before.
Chapman Baxter
I enjoyed the odd episode of TFI Friday, but otherwise didn't take much notice of him. So, 'not bothered'.
stinketta
he used to annoy me a little but i haven't heard him speak in an awful long time. so no hard feelings against him really, as he has buggered off.
tigerlily
I think he was good back on the day. I remember liking him way back when he was on Radio 1 at Sunday lunchtimes. I think that was even before the Big Breakfast.

But I think the whole TFI thing dragged him down. It was funny at first but then it all got a bit too 'lad culture' after a while and got tired.

Still think he's better than average though.
Sean of the Dead
He's alright I 'spose, but I still just think 'meh'.
widowspider
I always thought he was very funny - I loved Don't Forget Your Toothbrush and TFI Friday when it first came out. I can see how he would be irritating as well though.
Starscream`s Ghost
He`s clever, funny, talented. He`s also a vain git. But then, so is Richard Whitely.
Cornetto
A ginger nonce with a fetish for young girls, that’s got him down to a tee I think.
Baz
I think he was a great presenter and it was good seeing him back presenting the Brits. (was it the Brits, I can't remember)

Anyway, TFI, Don't Forget Your Toothbrush, Radio 1 and The Big Breakfast were all great programmes. He was the presenter of the 90's along with Ray Coakes for those that can remember him.
Stella MM
I respected him for his drive, ambition and determination and therefore was massively pissed off when he let it all go to his head and let his standards slip. The last series of TFI Friday was just unwatchable.

I wonder how to vote! Oh I know, can you guess what I chose?
pots
is there an age split here?

the old ones remember when he was the funniest, most exciting thing on telly and radio ( yup, including the radio one sunday afternoon slot ) whereas the young'uns think he's that bloke out of the paper who was married to billie piper.

i went for brilliant but agree with stella. it went to his head and he really needed someone to tell him to shut up and calm down.
butterfly_with_a_bomb?
I remember him as prozac in an irritating wrapper, like a child who you just wanted to slap

Strangely enough is that in real life he's a nice bloke.

Same with universally loathed Tony Wilson. Lovely fella with a real passion for music.

I used to love his breakfast radio show and TFI as they always put me in a good mood - until it went to his head and he became a bit of a bullying, self obsessed prick. To be fair though, he knew how talented he was and everyone was being all sycophantic and throwing money at him, it's not surprising it all went to his head and when you're sliding into alcoholism you're not the nicest of people at the best of times.

It's good to see him slowly coming back into the limelight - he seems to have calmed down and learnt his lessons and he's one of the most natural and witty presenters around. I think Billie and him were good for each other whilst it lasted and they have now both come out of the relationship hopefully into newly revived careers. In time people will learn to trust Chris again and give him some good gigs.

I agree with the view of him being brilliant at his peak, and then appearing to lose it for one reason or another (many reasons which have been discussed already). I think it would be good to see home continue this recent comeback - but not just as a front for someone else's ideas. I think he was at his best when he was fronting his own "babies" - I'm thinking specifically of Don't Forget your Toothbrush, and the TFI (when it was still good) here.

Its good that, from what I've seen, he and Billie have split amicably and are actually good friends - which is perhaps all that they should have been from the start!

These days I couldn't be bothered with him, recently he's been offering us crap like that game show with Vernon Kaye hosting it. I used to like TFI friday, but its been ripped off by so many poeple now that its lost its sparkle. Friday Night with Chris Moyles anyone?
shinyelvenqueen
he is a waste of time. he did set the standards when he first started out but now he doesn;t seem to contribute to tv anymore. i can imagine him being an eccentric grandad that will go bipolar. (edit already is)
m0r1arty
Have you seen what he's brought to TV recently?

Terry and Gabby have!!

I went nightclubbing with him once, he was all right

Meh, he's OK in my book. He can be very funny, but can also be a dick. So, he's alright by me, the two cancel each other out.
gulfcoast_highwayman
I stillthink 'Don't Forget Your Toothbrush' was a bloody brilliant format.
