Please help!!

I'm trying to remember the name of a film I saw many years ago. It was about a girl who had been brought up in isolation until the age of 6 and given a "Perfect Education" in an attempt to prove that nature outweighs nature in a child's development. Anyway a journalist turns up and slowly introduces her to the real world, and they develop an unlikely friendship.

I've just read that back, and realised how sinister that sounds, but I assure you it was all very innocent!

The film may have been black and white, but I can't really remember. There is one scene where the guy is watching a boxing match and the girl turns up unexpectedly.

Has anyone got any idea what this film is called?

is it called 'perfect education'?? hence the 'perfect education' that the girl gets? just a guess...

I haven't seen the film, but I often find the advanced search on IMDB useful for this sort of thing.

You can search for words in keywords and plot summaries - I'd go for 'isolation'.

IMDB didn't bring it up. I've tried searching on "isolaton" and "perfect education". I'm starting to think that maybe I've imagined the whole thing. Which makes it rather sinister again.

Surely somebody else must have seen it?

The only thing I can think of that sounds vaguely similar is Nell starring Jodie Foster but I doubt that's be it

It's much older than that (60s maybe) and this girl is intentionally isolated by scientists. I think it's set in New York and I also have a vague recollection of a scene with an Organ Monkey, and the journo tells the girl it's magic that makes the monkey dance.

Please tell me it's a real film, cause otherwise I've made this stuff up and that frightens me!
