Nero and Media player should, but I don't use them so I cannot tell you how.
Get a trial copy of Acid and do it that way

Open the bmp in whatever image editor you use (Paint etc), click File > Save As then select .jpg from the "Save as type:" menu

I know iTunes doesn't burn them that way although you can fade in-out during playback. I've used Soundforge to blend tracks, but I never really got the hang of it... I've been no help whatsoever.

FUCKING MEDIA PLAYER!!! That's two cd's now rendered unuseable because it keeps fucking up my computer. It goes through the pretense of burning a cd and then doesn't deliver the goods. All I want is to be able to crossfade and burn it to disc? Is that so bloody difficult? It seems that way right now.

Do you really need to crossfade? Not the end of the world is it?

It would make my summer musical on-the-road experiences a lot more enjoyable. Segues sound better than a silence in between each track.

Use nero to start creating a blank audio CD. Drag the tracks to the playlist. Select all of the tracks, then right click and select 'properties'. Change the 'pause' setting to 0, or select a crossfading time.
Done
