Well, I read somewhere some months ago that our release date is meant to be in early March, about 3 weeks after the UK release. But I haven't seen any official proof to back that up yet.

We Aussie's are always forgotten by the northern hemisphere, hey?

Even though some of us are the biggest fans of these boys' fantastic work!
As I mentioned in another thread, our biggest cinema chain doesn't even mention
Hot Fuzz or
Big Nothing for upcoming release in the next few months!

This has me a little worried.

I don't think Big Nothing even is an American movie. The trailer weirded me out, Simon all decked out in an American accent. Still would like to see it though.
I thought HF was released here on March 14? I'm sure I saw it somewhere, but can't for the life of me remember where.

Doesn't mention whether it'll be limited or wide release.

There's still no mention of it on the Village Cinema site.

Cheers for that. Margaret's too high brow and out of touch with the common man, ie, Shaun himself. The reviews of other punters on that website are great for a laugh, especially the dude who gave it 1/5. What a tit.
I like to think that when Hot Fuzz comes along, Margaret is going to be the granny recipient of a flying kick to the head from Nicholarse Angel. Bring the noise!

The reason I'd heard of
SOTD & was keen to see it was from watching the review on
At The Movies!

I hadn't heard of
Spaced back then, but I could tell from the
SOTD trailer that the humour in it was my kind of humour.

I don't take what either Margaret or David says as gospel, but they can usually give me a bit of an idea of whether a movie's worth seeing.

Actually, David's mentioned Simon & his
SOTD performance several times since, & always in a very positive way.

It'll be interesting to hear what they have to say about
Hot Fuzz.

Fuck yeah! It's about time. Can't wait to see some promotion (in cinemas, newspapers, and trams (especially when I make stickers and stick them on said trams.))
Also - Big Day Out was shite, but Muse brought the noise, and heat; Pyrotechnics. Unfortunately they couldn't do that at their side show, cause it was at Festival (I mean, Fuzztival) Hall, where the stage is quite close to the punters, but they were still awesome. I didn't have enough to drink and hence was dehydrated and couldn't breathe. Didn't stop me jumping around and singing like a madman though.

Aaww, that's great evilres! That'll be a fantastic experience for you then.
I was lucky enough to see
SOTD in the cinema, & that's how I got onto these guys & they're awesome work in the first place. I saw it in Canada with my sister, brother, nephew & my Mum (she didn't like it, though)!

Everyone in the cinema cracked up! My brother is one of the funniest people I know.

We've mentioned this to a couple of people in the forums, but it really IS worth waiting for Hot Fuzz to screen theatrically.
Nothing can possibly compare to the experience of watching it on a big cinema screen, and Hot Fuzz has one of the most aggressive, testosterone-fuelled soundtracks that we have ever heard (and considering how many movies we have watched over the years, that's saying something!)
Hot Fuzz is a wonderfully cinematic big-screen experience, and just a little patience will make all the difference.

Shit, I forgot! And longer for other countries of course. I guess all we can do is either avoid the discussions altogether and burst at the seams with glee when we finally see it, or cram as much Fuzz into our heads as possible, then shamelessly say the lines in the cinema along with Simon and Nick when we actually see the movie for the first time. Both good options.

Wow, it's been way too long since I posted here. Good to see the few Aussies in this joint are getting excited.
And yes, Big Day Out was very disappointing, I'm in Brisbane so didn't even have a Muse sideshow to go to without spending oodles of noodles.
As for Margaret & David, don't get me bloody started....ok just a little bit then....
"Peter Jackson moved on from this kind of film to bigger things, and I wouldn't be surprised if Edgar Wright does too." Braindead was enjoyable sure, but please, you can hardly compare really. Margaret, with her wheezy squeaky choke disguised as a laugh should be dipped in honey and throw to the bees. I'm not normally ageist (except perhaps when driving, shopping, working, socialising, eating, drinking.......) but I really feel they need new presenters. In the UK, the 'Film' programme with Barry Norman was good, but when Jonathan Ross took over it became so much better.
"English dorks have only limited appeal for me." Really? Well leathered-faced old bags have even less appeal for me.

I have to admit that moving to Queensland is very tempting sometimes too though!

Even Melbourne has been so humid this year. Is it global warming or what?
A lot of people have said it's because the drought is ending and the el nino cycle has finished. Mind you, we still can't get any decent rain - just horrible sticky humid weather.
