On the Lynx/Axe debate...I watched something I'd taped off the tv many years ago and there was an "Axe" advert on then. I think perhaps 'Lynx' was originally 'Axe' in this country too?
Also. The new Jet2 holiday advert bugs me. The bloke is lying there on his sunlounger with his kids bugging him for money....Then his wife has to ask him for permission to have some Euro's to buy a handbag! Way to go for equality there Jet2!
Normally things like this don't bother me at all but it certainly crossed my mind that, not only is it not very 21st century to have a woman asking her husband's permission to make a purchase, but also I bet they would never have dreamt of having the bloke asking his wife if he could possibly have some Euros to buy something?

Yes, it's bloody awful! (celebrity endorsement of beauty products should be banned).
In other news, has anyone seen the add with the gummy naked girl walking around a straw field? How the hell did they come up with that?!
I should be in advertising . . .
Advert for a mouth wash that prevents gum disease? Nakid bird in a field, that'll do it!

i thought that it was already a popular drink before the rise of national socialism, but good old coca-cola did a deal with the nazis for exclusive production and distribution rights?

Nope. Created in 1940 when they couldn't get supplies of Coke syrup. I'm not certain, but I believe the other story was circulated by Coke in an attempt to discredited the truth about it's less than desirable history.

I saw that yesterday, they've done the 'pets talking' thing perfectly. It isn't painfully cute, neither is it stupidly meowy or growly. Just funny. The one I saw it was trying to find a toy, and theother one suggested it play with orange mousey toy or something. i hear there's more of them though.

I've just had a look on Youtube.
Is it really that one with all the 'behind the scenes' footage? It's like a Genesis video from the early 90's.
She's hot and she can sing. How have they bolloxed it up so badly? Would it been so hard to put her in a nice summer dress and have her lying on a grassy hillside singing the famous jingle, whilst the camera, starting from a long distance above her, slowly zooms down to her gorgeous face?

What's the problem with the Joss Stone/Flake advert? She's in a studio, between songs, eating a flake and singing the flake song to herself, and she drops a bit of chocolate. I can believe that she does spend time in studios, potentially eats flakes, and sings to herself. How is that so bad? Compared to something like Tiger Woods et al in the Gilette Advert it's a masterpiece of subtle, believable advertising.
