Wife Of Rolex
Congratulations to Simon for winning the Writer's Guild Ronnie Barker Award at the British Comedy Awards last night.

It was presented to him by Bill Bailey. Hopefully Nick managed to get a shakey video of it on his mobile and put up on You Tube later as it'll be the only way we'll get to see him accept it.

Fuck you ITV.

Eeeyyyy! Well done Simon, you clever old bean!
kiss my empty bag
aww he looks handsome! itv sucks I dont understand why they took off the comedy awards? and not crappy shows like those late night quiz shows i.e the mint! they are scammers .
Wife Of Rolex
It's so bloody typical. 17 years it's been on TV and the first time they actually give Simon an award - and a pretty significant one at that - it's not televised.

ETA...

At the show:

Ronnie Barker Writers' Guild award, presented by Bill Bailey, went to Simon Pegg. Bailey said: 'You sort of forget, because he makes it very easy, how good a performer he is. Pegg said: 'I feel slightly fraudulent as I've got here on the shoulders of other poeple here: Jessica Stevenson, Edgar Wright, Nick Frost.

From the Chortle site.

Hooray for Simon!

He is looking surprisingly reminscent of my fiance at the moment! ohmy.gif
(and that's a good thing)

I think the highlight of the show was that The Simpsons won best comedy film over Hot Fuzz, in a British-oriented show.

Yay America? cool.gif

No?

*tap tap*

This thing on?
Raven
Well done that man!

BBC report - no mention of Simon's win.

Full list of the winners.
Rua
Well done Simon.

Alan Carr? Best stand-up? Really?

Who else was up for it?

He just makes the rest of the televised world feel threatened.
They can't hide him forever smile.gif

I read that as "Where's Scotty?" - unless the new Star Trek fillum's plot revolves around a barely audible magician bear.

To me, he's got the look of a finance minister or high-ranking diplomat, or something. Very smartly-dressed.

Or a blonde and bearded Kevin Spacey.

Very well deserved!

Thanks for posting that Wifey.

No worries.

I do think it's a shame he didn't get one for Hot Fuzz to make it a double, though. It's like they've said, 'You're a great writer and a brilliant British talent and everything, but we're going to give the film award to The Simpsons Movie, despite the fact it was about 10 years too late, because it's The Simpsons.'

But that's just my own rant.

Yay!!

I don't honestly understand a couple of the winners and I hate that they aren't televising it, idiots! But, congrats to Simon!!

Also, he is looking a bit like a 70's scary puppeteer sports reporter type person, but in a strangely attractive way..
