Travis Barker (drummer of Blink 182) has been seriously injured in a plane crash, however my boyfriend just got a text from his brother saying that he's died. I can't find anything online, so hopefully that's not the case.
Last I heard, he was expected to recover from serious burns. I haven't read anything about his death so far.

No, it seems it was a hoax. The accident sounds horrific though.

What's also awful is that the four other people on the plane died. Close friends of Travis' and the pilots.
Very sad indeed.

This is really weird, because about six or seven years ago there was a hoax going around (I don't know if it was just locally) that one of the other Blink 182-ers had died in a car crash.

It's hard to imagine a time when all the legendary actors of the 20th century will no longer be with us... but it's going to happen. (Perhaps a little morbidly) this is what I think about when such an icon dies.

Rob GuestQUOTE
Theatre star Rob Guest has died in Melbourne after suffering a massive stroke. The 57-year-old, who had been starring in the musical Wicked, was admitted to Melbourne's St Vincent's Hospital last night. His stage musical career took him to Australia where he starred in Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera. He was the world's longest serving Phantom, having played the role a record 2289 times in performances over seven years. More recently he played Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music.
Sad.
I saw him in
Phantom about 10 years ago. Great voice.

The passing of
Mr Blackwell probably won't be mourned by many.
Why did people give this bitchy old queen so much attention - if the US media hadn't have paid any attention to him, then he'd have just slinked off to Florida and retired quietly.
He supposedly died of an intestinal infection - maybe all that mild bile he spewed every year found it's way into his bowels.
The yahoo reported used the word "legend" - these days this particular piece of lingual currency is more devalued than the German mark after WW1. He was only a "legend" because bored and lazy journalists slavishly gathered outside his house every year to see him step outside the gate and deliver his damning verdicts on celebrity fashion in a Luthor-like manner.
Oh, and there's nothing particularly clever about speaking in rhyme - it's
very childish.
"This season, many will gloat...
...because I'm wearing a wooden overcoat."See - I can be childish, too.
Sorry if this post seems very catty, but I really couldn't stand this pointless individual - Nick hated him, too...

If by "cared" you mean that he irritated me in life to do the literary equivalent of a jig on his final resting place, then, yes - I cared.
He irked me - I mentioned Mr Blackwell's demise to Nick on the phone earlier and he was quite pleased...

Whilst I may not be mourning the passing of Mr Blackwell, I AM sad to see that blaxploitation great Rudy Ray Moore has gone to perform his stand-up routine to St Peter.

With the death of Isaac Hayes so recently, it comes as a bit of a shock to read of the cessation of life of another member of that unique band of seventies movie stars.
I sign off this sad post with one of my favourites from Mr Moore...
