<Downsy> I've mailed Edgar back
<Simon> I think it was Madonna. I think the whole fast thing is an attempt to just sex things up a little. For me it defeats the object. The charm of the
zombie is that it is somewhat ineffectual.
<NickLee> <Gannon> how have you found the reviews? overall, they have all been very good... has it relaxed you more?
<Simon> We'll stay on a while. Hell, I've seen Dawn of the Dead a few times.
<NickLee> <The404> Hi Guys. Thanks for opportunity to converse with you in some small way. I was wondering what your opinions are on the decline of Genre
Television in favour of Reality TV. It seems well scripted original programming (such as Spaced) are taking a back seat in favour to the Pop Idols and Big
Brothers of this world.
<Simon> They have been amazing. It's nice to get external validation but don't rely on it.
<Downsy> <hailtothedan> whats your favourite , most memroable moment of filming shaun of the dead?
<NickLee> sorry gave you two questions at once there!
<Downsy> and I've given you a third
<Simon> Yes. TV seems to be less and less about creativity and more about voyeurism. BBC3 is flying the flag but there's less and less room for truly
interesting programming.
<Simon> hail - the zombies outside the Winchester day was amazing. It was a real treat.
<Downsy> <snowblink> Who would you like to pencil the SoTD graphic novel adaptation?
<Simon> Edgar cannot get on the site and if he can't make it tonight, he will be back here this time tomorrow. He can't even access spaced out.
<NickLee> It appears fine he must have problems at this end
<Simon> snowblikn - I'm not that good an artist.
<Downsy> <Vurt> Simon Is this the longest you've been connected to the t'internet without looking at porn

<NickLee> <Ursula> Would you rather die at the teeth of a Zombie or a Vampire?
<Downsy> dammit

<NickLee> oops
<Simon> All those of you who want to watch the original Dawn, fly now my pretties.
<Simon> Vampire. A love bites better than a disembowelling.
<Simon> Vurt 3 minutes
<NickLee> your turn Downsy
<Downsy> <jen> what book are you reading at the moment?
<Simon> The Cutious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time.
<Simon> curious
<NickLee> Is it any good?
<Simon> It's excellent. All written from the perspective of an ortistic child. Gripping.
<NickLee> A lot of people havce asked now about the juxtaposition of the release of SHAUN and of DAWN - why was that, and do you consider it beneficial to
Shaun?
<Downsy> Bit of a moral question here... <snowblink> Do you think this film will encourage people to kill zombies?
<Simon> It was a surprise. We didn't know about DAWN04 until we had written the 1st draft of Shaun. Universal insisted Dawn be released first. Think it's
actually a good thing now. Didn't at first.
<Simon> Hope so snow.
<NickLee> <Laurie> Mr Simon, if you didnt do what you do now - well... what would you do??
<Simon> Edgar may be in.
<Simon> That's like a Going Live question Laurie, gawd bless ya. I'd be a full time dreamer. Reference?
<Downsy> <steven> what can we expect on the sotd dvd?
<Simon> Lots of extras. we were shooting making of footage two years before we the big cameras rolled. Lucy Davis shot a lot of behind the scenes stuff, as
did I. There will also be four separate commentaries, One by the Zombies.
<NickLee> Just a thought from lewismoo here: <lewismoo> simon i just had a cheese and mayo sandwich....what were you thinking....*throws up*
<Simon> apologies
<NickLee> now a proper question
<NickLee> <hailtothedan> favourite weapon used in Shaun of the dead?
<Simon> Incidentally. Had a long chat with Jess tonite.
* Simon has quit IRC (Quit: Leaving)
<NickLee> oops
<NickLee> well folks, it appear simon's computer has gone for a brief toilet break
<NickLee> in the meanwhile, keep submitting your questions and hopefully we will resume shortly
* Simon has joined #spaced
<Simon> Sorry got lost then.
<NickLee> ok
<Simon> what was the last q?
<NickLee> <hailtothedan> favourite weapon used in Shaun of the dead?
<Simon> The Axe, although I never actually get to use it.
<NickLee> <Victor> what is jess up to. i love her
<Simon> Jess is doing her thang. we're meeting nest week to discuss. The Big Book of Spaced and the possibiltiy of finishing the story.
<Simon> next week, not nest week
<NickLee> <The404> Simon. What would you like written on your tombstone? (That isn't a threat!)
<Simon> Edgar's getting closer.
<NickLee> that sounds so wrong.
<Simon> Here Lies David St Hubbins, and Why Not?
<NickLee> <GoodnightToMyRockAndRollEra> What will be in the big book of Spaced?
<Simon> All the scripts. Unseen photos and the lost episode. Also the beginning of an Episode when Mike gets struck by lightening and loses his moustache and
powers.
<NickLee> <dunc> shaun is a amature dj in the film isnt he? who is your favourite DJ?
<Simon> I'm gonna stay for 15 more mins guys, izzat okay?
<Simon> Tall Paul
<NickLee> <zenlimbo> Suggestions for the next Bond ?
<Simon> Kenny Baker
<NickLee> <Sixtyten> did you have any prima donna moments during filming?
<Simon> Never.
<NickLee> <BlindIO> Legalise it?
<Simon> Depends what it is...
<NickLee> <Faldor> what happended in the original episode 5 of SPACED series 2? which got replaced with the Pubbing episode?
<Simon> Edgar will be here tomorrow.
<Downsy> Edgar sends his apologies, he's having computer problems
<Simon> It was an Episode about the boys and the girls having separate nights out. It wasn't very good.
<NickLee> <Sixtyten> are you eagerly awaiting the new dr. who?
<Simon> Kind of Six. Not such a huge Who fan as Edgar or Gatiss.
<NickLee> ok, then, last few questions now for Simon before we let the poor man go to bed.
<NickLee> <CyBoRgX> Simon, Favourite british comedy?
<Simon> Probably League cYb.
<NickLee> <KnickKnack> Chris Morris; comedy god, or deranged harbinger of bad taste?
<Simon> Bit of both
<Downsy> <Drace> Scully or Buffy?
<NickLee> <Shadders> Thanks for sharing Simon!
<Simon> Bit of both
<Simon> No probs Shadders. Sorry it couldn't be mnore of a party. Edgar will be here tomorrow.
<Downsy> <snowblink> Do you think Lucas will redeem himself with episode 3?
<Simon> Doubt it snow.
<NickLee> <KnickKnack> What is it about Zombies you find so alluring?
<NickLee> ok right
<Simon> There just so damn cute.
<NickLee> I think one more question from downsy, one from myself, and if you have any comments we'll pass those on
<Simon> They're!
<Downsy> <someonethatisntSpikeMilligan> You have a week to live, what do you do?
<Simon> Jesus, it's late and my grammar is suffering
<Downsy> soz

<Simon> Party
<Simon> You can have my baby's hat.

<NickLee> <Todge> Simon I never got a question answered but you quoted Tap so you rock and keep up the stellar work
<Simon> No probs. My pleasure.
<NickLee> <Laurie> Mr Simon, i hear you're getting married - congrats. Have you any Hello/Ok-esque things in mind - any zombies invited??
<Simon> Thanks Todge
<Simon> One more
<Downsy> <Marky_D> Cheers for the 2000 AD - from the missus

<Simon> No Hello. No glitz.
<Simon> No probs Mark
<NickLee> I think without copying and pasting every comment, everyone appreciates this opportunity
<NickLee> and I'm sorry not everyone had a chance to ask their questions
<Simon> Cool.
<NickLee> but you should see the list! We'd be here literally all century.
<NickLee> Thankyou Simon
<Simon> Last question before bed?
<NickLee> and Thankyou everyone for coming
<Downsy> Thanks Simon
<NickLee> ok -- downsy
<Downsy> hmm
<Downsy> was going to be for edgar as well
<Downsy> <midge> If you two were forced to duel each other with fruit and veg, what would be your weapon of choice, and why?
