Original post:

Anyone out there interested in taking part in a reading group?

There was one running on the old boards and it seemed to work quite well so is there anyone out there who would be interested in taking part in one again?

Post here if you are interested!

I would but I have a massive list already of stuff I want to read sad.gif I will always read the thread though to get some recommendations in case I get bored of King wink.gif
fatmanintweed
Sounds like a good idea. smile.gif
Rav
I'd be interested
madfish
what does it invovle (besides reading tongue.gif )
Raven
A bit of writing tongue.gif

Basically someone nominates a book, people are then given a few weeks to read it, and then a thread is started where people post their thoughts and discuss the book if they wish too.

Last time around the books included:

Nineteen Eighty-Four
I Am Legend
London Fields
One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest

Iíve no idea what will come up this time around!
madfish
sounds good, count me in smile.gif
Lazlo Woodbine
Can people dip in and out when they see a book they fancy reading?
Raven
Yeah, sure, I doubt I'll be able to read every book myself anyway - I certainly didn't last time smile.gif
Chapman Baxter
I'd be interested. But I already have a large metaphorical pile of books on my to-read list, so I might dip in and out depending on the title.
Hieroglyphic Puppy
I'd like to do it. smile.gif
sean_ofthedead
I'd totally be up for it, sounds like a really interesting idea. smile.gif
Raven
Okay, well there seems to be some interest so I've leave it build for a couple more names and then I'll sort something out.
fried_gold

277 pages. You could read that in a month, couldn't you? Or are you one of those people who have lives?

shiny gem
i'm planning on grabbing the book this weekend so dont worry i'm a fast reader i'll catch up no probs!!! Seriously... i't took me like 2 days to read my last book... and no it wasn't run spot run before you ask!!!
biggrin.gif
Lazlo Woodbine
Argh, i'v eonly read 5 pages and am alread loving it, but keeping having to read various books for college instead. I don't suppose there is gonna be a film out beofre the end of the month is there? smile.gif
Raven
After my initial quick start I've had bugger all time to sit down and read over the last week so I've only just made it to about page 100 - it's no reflection on the book at all, which is excellent, just on my lazy arse reading style wink.gif
madfish
im roughly half way through and im really enjoying this book so far, great choice cool.gif
fried_gold
i'm at about page 150. can't wait to see what happens :)
Ade
Ooh, ooh! I already bought this book months ago at my brother's recommend! smile.gif

I've just finished reading a book, so I will get cracking straight away if it's not
too late to join in...? When are thoughts/views/comments due for posting?

Edit: Okay, ignore that, just seen the locked discussion thread.... duhhh! What a Joey! wacko.gif
fried_gold
anyone can join in, if you read the book. the discussion thread won't open until the end of the month anyway, still got a couple of weeks! i've finished now. very good :)
Ade
Fucken great. smile.gif

Just started yesterday, only read about four pages, but it was late, and I fell asleep!
But it grabbed my interest, that's the main thing, gonna log off now and get readin'! smile.gif
