It's not without precedent, but it happens so rarely.  *sigh*  Bummer.

If it does go off the air, some serious script-flingage in the direction of Kristin Bell needs to happen ASAP.  She's marvelous.
*

Yeah, her turn in Deadwood was pretty great as well. She really needs to get something good so that she can remove Pulse from her CV.

Edit: Just had a look at her current projects on imdb and I never knew there was an adaptation of Flatland being made. Can't wait to see how they try to sell a film about a square who discovers the third dimension.

Hai. String together one of her best bits from Veronica Mars, one of her big reveal scenes from Deadwood and her singing "Little Mary Sunshine" from Reefer Madness, and the range is superb.

I suppose four years isn't too far a leap...
*

Definitely not. We actually lost four years of a soap here (Days, Young & Restless, can't remember which) because we were so far behind. I think they ran a one hour special explaining four years worth of plot, then straight into it. I don't watch them, and I found this hilarious!

Not too long to wait then.

It was originally scheduled for this spring, so I wouldn't hold your breath!

The new season of Smallville worries me, mainly because of the parallel's with Buffy and Charmed (on the WB). There have been some dips in quality since the glory days, introducing new characters hasn't gone too badly (they could have gone better, of course), but I just don't know how much longer they can keep it all going. One more season is basically it I would think and they need to give it a good conclusion, no 'leaving us on the edge of our seats'.

I agree. I'm sick of any storyline to do with Clark; there hasn't been nearly enough Lois or Green Arrow lately, and I'm still mad at Lex for marrying Lana . Not sure of the spoiler tags are necessary, but better to be safe etc etc.

I'm interested in the Chole as a meteor-freak storyline, and to see how Lex makes his final transition into BAMF-Lex, but that's about it at the moment.

Everything to do with the JLA is great in Smallville, if Clarke can do more with them in the next season then great. I would like to see Clarke finish his training in the Fortress of Solitude after doing away with the Phantom Zone plotline; then he can perhaps make the full transition that they alluded to with Raya, and we can see more of him flying and doing the whole Superman bit.

Well we've seen something to do with Chloe in the season finale, very interesting power - if that is indeed it. They have obviously hinted that she is dead, so either she had the power to sacrifice herself for someone she loves, or the first exercise of a healing/restorative power took a massive toll on her.

Oooo, I've not seen the finale yet, but my bro and I have been worried about this from day one Chloe-luvvers, we be. . Noooooooooo......!
Ingram
Apologies for the spoiler then. Even though it was tagged wink.gif You will see why she might not be dead in the episode though, but I'll say no more than that.
Peronel
Eh, no biggie. Since I've used my 15gb limit in the first ten days of the month, I won;t be seeing it for a while anyway. My bro will cave in soon and read about it on kryptonsite and tell me anyway.

CW renews 'Supernatural', 'Smallville', more

Smallville get's a ninth season?! It is the show that refuses to die!
gulfcoast_highwayman
A ninth season???

Will I never be free of it?
UnderSpaced
I'm just happy Supernatural got the renew since I read it was supposed to be 5 seasons. Every season gets better and next season will be the final one. Great show.

I have not been impressed with Supernatural. Buffy and Angel and even the X-Files and all the complexities theirin, Supernatural is like the blander caffeine and sugar free version for teens complete with cute boys (tee hee lol) and Scooby Doo plotlines. Which of course - it is - and it does that job okay. I was expecting more. Perhaps Joss and JJ and Tim Kring have spoiled us with complex plot arcs and character development. I only watch it every now and again for Jeffrey Dean Morgan and teh Ackles. The other bloke who looks like Matthew from Eastenders (remember him?) is pretty dire.

But in comparison to Smallville, Supernatural is fucking Shakespeare. I hate this show so much more than I can possibly express. Michael Rosenberg was too good for this nonsense too and once he left, it should have been put to pasture. The fact it has been commission again make me very sad indeed. It's just ... shit! But then I'm not a big Superman fan. And like Twilight - it isn't made for me.
Starscream`s Ghost
Personally, I really like Smallville. I'm a relatively recent convert to it, having only really started watching it from the start over the last six months or so, but I enjoy the new take on Clark and his journey into becoming Big Blue. I'll admit it's probably not for everyone. And I'll also admit that I'm maybe not the person to ask when it comes to what makes quality television; I can't tolerate Buffy (mainly because I can't watch SMG without wanting to punch the screen), but I'll happily watch Lois and Clark. laugh.gif

Sarah Connor Chronicles Terminated - along with The Unusuals.

ETA:

Bones Renewed for Another Two Seasons.

Here's to them caving in and fucking up any good plot arcs again - as they tend to do. I used to like Bones but the British episode is some of he most excruciating TV i've ever had to endure. Put me right off.

Damn it, Fox!

My Name is Earl, The Unit and Medium all become part of TV history.

I wonder if Patricia Arquette saw that one coming?
NiteFall
But hurrah for Chuck getting a third series!
omni
It looks like CBS will pick up Medium (though for what reason I can't imagine, that show is and has always been god awful), and ABC or Fox might grab Earl.

On the upside, Castle and Fringe are both back next season.

I hope so. I love Earl.

Better Off Ted has been granted a second season. Good. It is good.
Zoe
Despair then joy reading this page. 'Medium' has been saved!

What would I do without Jake Weber being woken up at 3am every single morning, but always asking "what's wrong"?

No man looks better in pyjamas.
Jessopjessopjessop
There is no justice. Medium is obviously tripe, but Earl is too. I don't fancy Jason Lee enough to sit through all the patronising. "The Sarah Connicles" had potential but felt like something from the 90s.
Outatime
For all the crap that's on tv they cancel Earl, what a jip.

I gave up on Earl long ago, and I really really really fancy Jason Lee.

'Medium' is tripe, but in the best possible way. Alison misinterprets her dreams every week, but I like figuring out what's going on well before anyone in the show does. It's so formulaic and silly, a bit like Silent Witness.

Weber and Arquette are my favourite on screen couple, possibly ever. And the family dynamic is a lot of the reason why I enjoy it so much. Me and Zoe call it marriage porn.
Sir_Robin_the_brave
I don't know if anybody tried to watch The Unit at all but it is bobbins and should have been axed ages ago.

Still find it hard to believe that Shawn Ryan thought it would be a good series to follow up The Shield with.
gulfcoast_highwayman
I adored Earl for the first cople of seasons, then they lost their way. The coma episodes were a particluar low point (Paris Hilton???). I hoped they could get back the magic in season four but they soon gave up on going back to the list and featured nonsense like flying Randy and Joy & Darnell in the Witness Protection Programme.

Time to put it out of it's misery, methinks.
Outatime
It has gone downhill but I'd rather they cancelled it when there's a chance to finish the story off nicely (I haven't seen the end of series 4 yet).
whitey
Party Down also renewed. Also good. It is also good.
Jimmay
I know it's not a US show but I heard Sky's Gladiators has been cancelled as well.
Outatime
I saw that headline, did it even make it to a second series? It was shockingly bad.

I think they may have actually done three but definitely 2 because Kirsty Galagher wasn't in the latest series and they played the nostalgia card by bringing back Wolf. I stopped enjoying that show when I was a kid and went to see it being filmed. It was soooooo dullllll.
sweetbutinsane
I loved Gladiators when I was younger but didn't even bother with the new series.
NiteFall
I only watched it a couple of times, and even then only because we know one of the gladiators.
Atara
The new UK one is a bit lame, they have lost so many of the better games and lets face it the eliminator is not as good.

The American new Gladiator is much better.
Raven
'My Name Is Earl' not returning.

I'm firmly of the opinion that any cancelled show should be given a one episode reprieve to tie up loose ends.

It's that time of the year again . . .

First to fall - Ugly Betty.

Surely it still turns a good profit with 5.3 million viewers? O_o
