[UPDATE]
Special thanks to Chris Ryall, Editor of the comic for sending us some exclusive promo pics, which you can now see here. Check out the link also for news on the UK release of the comic.

The Shaun of the Dead comic is now avaliable to pre-order and will be released on July 15th with the second issue following on the 20th. But only in America it would seem at the moment. The comic will run for a total of 4 issues.

YES

Mine, all mine.

Simmer down, Beavis. Not all yours. Two of 'em are mine. tongue.gif

Surely most comics that are available over here are the American ones. Specialist comic shops get their issues direct from the publisher.

Can somebody subscribe for me, & keeps the issues in mint condition (I'll be your bestest friend!). I'm travelling at the moment, & anything I buy will pretty much disintergrate after a couple of weeks. Back next May.

would you not be better off subscribing yourself and then having them sent to a trustworthy friend/family memeber to hold on to for you?

I've not followed the link, but i presume the subscription option means you will receive them by post?
munch

Marty
Er... yeah.

We have been kindly been sent a few exclusive pictures of the comic by the editor, Chris Ryall. Also Chris has told us that there will be 4 issues in total and that Simon and Edgar may (not yet confirmed) be doing a signing/promo at this years San Diego Comicon.

As far as a UK release is concerned, it looks like Titan Publishing will be picking up the rights to the comic. When I contacted them, this is what they had to say;

Hi, Baz

I'm afraid that the deal regarding SHAUN OF THE DEAD is still being worked
out, so as such, I'm not in a position to give you any further information
at the moment; however, as soon as I am able, I'll send through full details
of release and pricing, etc.

Looks like us Brits will just have to wait.
spunge_mad

Buffy!

Etc, etc.

I don't like the art.

And thanks rebelstar. The yank issues of all of IDW's comics are freely available in specialist comic shops in this country from the slightly rubbish national giant Forbidden Planet through the excellent and slightly smaller chain Travelling Man right down to tiny but brilliant independant shops such as David's Comics in Brighton (in the lanes) or Worlds Apart in Liverpool (Lime Street). They'll probably be in on whichever is the first day your local shop gets their deliveries after the official publishing date (usually a Wednesday or a Thursday in my experience).

If you don't know where your nearest comic shop is ask on here, I'm sure one of us geeks will be able to help you out.
Raven
Slightly off topic but is there still a Forbidden Planet in Brighton?

Haven't been over there for years so I don't know if it's still going!

Wasn't when I was there (couple of years ago). You wouldn't need one with that David's Comics though. Still the best selection of any comic shop I've ever seen and all in a tiny shop.
Amazongirl
Next time im in forbidden planet ill order them, coolio

Im so amazingly excited right now, i may spontaneously combust.... Im so darn excited.

For all your comic needs, search for shaun of the dead, also land of the dead comic is coming out, wonder if they will make a cartoon zombie cameo in that ha!

Try explaining someone who doesn't own comics what bagging and boarding is... they will look at you and say: WHY?
Mini Frankenstein
OK, it's out in the US? How about Canada? I'm guessing yes but not a 100% sure.

I reckon it's the same deal as over here. Pretty much every comic shop has to order their comics direct. Have a look at some of your old issues. If they have 'direct sales' 'direct edition' or just plain old 'direct' written by the barcode then they came straight from the publisher.

And you can always import. But I'll check the comic shop near me this week and let you know.

(Another Canadian? How fun!)
Mini Frankenstein
Yay! I'm not alone, well lets get searching for that comic huh.gif

I've ordered 1 and 2 from IDW, got an email yesterday saying:
"STATUS: Shipped"
and then another one saying:
"STATUS UPDATE: Partially shipped"
which I guess means 1 has been shipped, and 2 will be on it's way later, either way I'm happy smile.gif

Oh and this is my first post, I've been lurking a while, and without this forum I wouldn't have found out about the comic at all .... thought I better join in smile.gif
thirtyhelens
Hmmm...good to know. I ordered both from IDW also and haven't received any emails yet. Maybe tomorrow...

Welcome, BTW. smile.gif
thirtyhelens
Double posting to note that I don't have to expect a shipping notice, I GOT IT!!! #1 just landed on my desk. Tee hee! happy.gif

Just picked up my copy from Forbidden Planet...mmmmm nice. And to my joy they have left in the "can I get any of you cunts a drink" line. Looks like there will be no holding back on the language then
rabbit57i
Ah, just got my copy too! Barely looked at it though. I knew I should have brought it to work with me.

Yeah, considering they changed other things, I was pleased to see that stuck. wink.gif

Is it just me or is Pete sort of deliberately drawn as a shadow figure, you never quite see his face...??? Interesting choice.

Thankfully for us in the Brighton, the first issue can be bought for 2.40 at 'Dave's comics' down Sydney Street. It's Brilliant. biggrin.gif

Although... i have recently noticed the artists have coloured shaun/simon's eyes in blue!

Fools! He has brown eyes I tell you! Brown! .... *takes deep breath*

Can't wait for the next issue to come out! happy.gif

The gentleman from the comic book store near me tried to tell me it wasn't out yet in North America. I told him he was wrong. Was I right?
thirtyhelens
You were not, darlin'.

Seriously, order it from IDW directly. I got my copy of #1 over a week ago. biggrin.gif
