Ada the dog, a starlet in her own right, is the oft-forgotten member of the Spaced cast. We take a look at the canine behind the collar.

Ada is a Miniature Schnauzer. At 4 years old, she is a little girl, who is now slightly confused about her gender as her character Colin, is a boy. She lives in Essex with her Mother Elsie and her owner, breeder and trainer, Barbara Gash.

DID YOU KNOW?
ADA's mother ELSIE, appears in Episode 5, Series 1, as the dog Daisy mistakes for Colin.

She leads a very full social life, enjoying the jazz club, line dancing and the Southend seafront. Although she frequents many pubs, she is not a heavy drinker.

ADA has taken to TV work very well, considering she has not been trained for it. She has lived all her life with search dogs and consequently thinks she is a Border Collie.

Her reading is not very good, so the script has to be read to her, then she is told what is required of her, which she always does with aplomb, with a little help from Barbara.

She is deeply in love with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, with whom she has a unique working relationship.

And, in case you were dead or in a coma during Series One, Colin, Ada's on-screen counterpart, is Daisy's much-loved poppet, and Tim's nemesis... and, consequently, Ada is seen in Series 1 alternately being mauled by Daisy and terrorising a jelly-legged Tim into ready submission, along with some well-placed Bamboo...
